you need Diff pulley at the layshaft, the geardiff or Both?

Err... don't take it the wrong way but you're the very first TA04er that I know who needs replacement geardiff bodies. Others either haven't managed to kill them or they use balldiffs.

That's probably why the shops don't stock them all the time... takes a lot of capital to stock everything in sufficient quantities; keeping tons of slow moving stock on the shelf is "dead money" and is nightmare on your financial statements - makes it look like a badly-run company. Your bank manager and accountant will divorce you.

Hey, some options 4 u:-

#1 I got a TA04 built only for display on the shelf, if you want I can pull its geardiffs out tonight and if I express post them tomorrow they *might* get to you before the weekend. (With Tassie, I think ExpressPost's "next day g'tee" doesn't apply, go ask them.)

Cost to you = Metro's price of the new parts + postage

You'll have to let me know (A) exactly which parts you need, (B) what Metro's prices are on them & (C) you'll have to confirm it all quick like today.

Email me if interested.

#2 or there's alwaysthat fully-hoppedup TA04...

yes I know it is very strange. what happened is that when the belt
stretched it has actaully melted the plastic.

I think i might just bite the bullet and go against my no-hops idea and
buy a ball diff kit, stick it in the front of the car and put the gear diff in
the back.

Metro had the layshaft pully in stock.

I am keen for your hopped up ta04 (can you get me a pic of it) but
the Minister for Domestic Affairs, Financial Control and Budgets for
Spending on Cars (1:1 and 1:10) said last night not till after the
wedding (in november) so i have to keep working on that

i find buying hop ups bit by bit is easy for me, then it is to fork out $400 for a new car...

Last order from Metro was here next day, gotta love it
And they are cheaper too only $7

spoke to some bird at hobbyco today who couldnt really tell me how
long it would be, it all depended on when they would go to do their
mail and it might be here in a week or so, which is great when they
charge about twice as much as metro charge...!!!

And yes it is easier to sneak some hop-ups past the wife than a whole
car too - not that i would do that ;)

Wedding eh? Colleagues just then laughing away, 'cos I had 3 of them...

Trick is... (1) keep the parcel box in the car boot.

(2) bring in 1 piece at a time, make in a pile on your workbench. "New spareparts, honey. Got 'em cheap!".

(3) when you've got 80% carried in, yell out "hey honey, time to start fixing my *old* car. ya think I got enough bits here to build another one from the leftovers?"

LOL...
