Where is the crew going?

OK here's an open question to the 'heli usuals' about their intentions for May next year. Peter, Chris, Glenni... what events are in the offering after Christmas?

Coffs is scheduled for 15, 16 & 17 of May... are you lads planning on going? If I was going to plan one trip around that time I'd rather get to one that I can see all your smiling faces, so is it Coffs... or somewhere else?

Maybe we should have an AUSRC event on the Coffs weekend and call it the 'Not Coffs" event. :D

So tell me what you folks are planning and if there is any likelihood we can all catch up.

Bueller! Bueller!!

Hello....

Come on Peter you must have a plan. And what about Chris? Will work get get in the way again or is it bit better planned nowadays?

I need to plan a long way ahead so help a brother out.
It'll all depend on whether or not a particular Spectra G is built and flying .....

I can't see me attending another Coffs event though .. I've been to all of them so far , the last one was crap ; too commercial , too " clicky " I , and lots of others , think ....
It's great to catch up with flyers from all over the place , but there's a few who think they are the most important, and they have have destroyed the " good times " of past fun flys. The Wagga event has suffered too .....

Theres been some talk about a " not Coffs " event around the same time, Lismore , Ballina , Sydney and here at the Gold Coast have been mentioned; I suppose someone will need to get organised......
Peter, I've only been to the one Coffs event and it was the most recent. I must say that I felt a bit on the outer and certainly felt the "cliques" around and it detracted from the event a bit. I don't blame anyone for that, I'm not the best at mixing either, but I certainly felt it could have done with a more 'open to one and all' feel to it and the running of it.

Of course, that's just my opinion and is subjective at best.

Now... if there is going to be a "Not Coffs" event, do you suppose it would be on the same weekend? I'm pretty sure that weekend will work for me.

I'd be happy with most places... obviously the closer to Sydney the better for me (being from Melbourne), but would be prepared to travel to where ever the party is happening.

As for whether or not the Spectra G is up and running... well, why do you think I want to attend another event with you gasserholics? So I can pay someone in rum to do the build of course. ;)

Thats a real shame guys, who knows maybe next year you may feel different
Well if any one is interestid in having a fun fly around that time at ballina that can be arainged.

we could have it over two days with a dinner at the local RSL saturday night and if enough people are interested we can arainge to have our own function room.

so if any one is keen please let me know

Hmmm

Peter I know you dont get on with everybody who does !

I see a wedge being driven in with the QLD boys in here and the rest of Archeli. I guess each to there own, however it is a shame you feel this way.

I hope you do make it to coffs always good to catch up!

Jody,

Please let's not make this a thread trying to find something between here and ArcHeli. Nobody has even mentioned ArcHeli in this thread so there is no need to make assumptions about motives.

If you read my post above I also explained how I felt having attended the last Coffs event.

We are all going to be drawn to events that make us feel the most at home. Sometimes we arrange to meet with, or travel with those that make us feel at home and other times we seek a different space to get the same.

I for one would travel to enjoy the social scene with Peter, Chris or Glenn as we all seem to have a pretty similar outlook on the hobby and life in general.

Agreed there is nothing in this thread that suggests that, however there is plenty of supporting posts to this in other threads on here which is where the opinion has come from (certainly not an assumption). Look I certainly not here to stir up a nest, more than happy to let sleeping dogs lie, I for one enjoy mixing it with the QLD massive, hence my disapointment with what I have read in previous posts on this forum admittedly not this thread.

I will not dwell on this and provide links to posts etc etc.

Anyhow enough sliding off topic!
Guys,

This has nothing to do with ARCheli. It has to do with the way some people chose to treat other people at the last Coffs. A number of people were made feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable and it had nothing to do with what state they were from.

I for one was very dissappointed in the attitudes of some.

At this point in time, I feel exactly the same as Peter.

cheers
Glenn
Again dissapointing to hear thats for sure Glenn. As you know i just enjoy the whole event thing and have not felt these things (obviously does not mean it happens).

In private id like to know what these experiences where when we all next catch up.

So whats happening you boys having a seperate event or meeting up at coffs or just giving it a miss?
What's going on here.
Peter and Glenn.
If I have offended yas in anyway I am sorry and will attempt to contact yas by phone friday. To find out what the problem was/is.
Peter, If another club member has offended you, I wonder if it was the same bloke you yeld at in 2007. I forgave you for yelling at me. (cause that's what mates do)
If it was another registered pilot then we can not be held responsible but should have been notified.

I will be in touch.
Carl
Skidd.
Big events will loose that personal touch that small events have, not much I can do about that.
Last years helifest was a huge burdon on me, It took me a good 3 weeks to get over it mentaly and I'm not kiddin. I have never been so brain dead ever after that weekend.
This is why I chose never to do it again, fortunatly I was able to encourage Shannon (HyLee) to take it on with myne and Scotty's help.
I have alot of confidence in Shannon and know he can make helifest the best yet.
Guess a picture tells a thousand words.
Good to see you there Glenn.
