I reckon with some quality thinking that can be built for a few dollars
it would cost to get bulbs and wire. Solder it on a frame and I reckon
it will be just as good.

Unless the actual work is a put off, its a good cheap project. But
can't you get a good NiMh pack for $45 au? No need to discharge too.

You can make something similar yourself by just wiring up a dozen brake light bulbs (12V 21W) in parallel.

Or just go buy a dozen "emergency lights" at your $2 shop, the type that uses the same 21W bulb and plugs into your ciggy port.

Any brake light bulb is 21W anyways, that's the standard.

Buy the dual-filament ones and parallel both filaments... that'll give you 21+5W of resistance!
