Ok.. ignore the circles on the pic.. .. I CANNOT back out any of the
four screws holding the engine coverplate.. not the rotostart plate..
the silver one connected to the engine.. there is four screws..
NONE will back out.. and i have broken my 2 expensive allen keys!!..
the T handle ones .. they must be Red loctited or something????

What should i do.. how do i remove them?.. well more importantly.. how
do i remove the cover plate.. should i watch out for anything that will
JUMP out of the engine??

cheers

please dont say i need a new engine

nothing will jump out of the engine. If they are red locktited in you may be in trouble. Try putting the engine oin the oven and heating it up then try unscrew them. Otherwise you may have to drill them out which means new case
. But you should be able to get them out

husky.. is there anything u dont know

i went outside.. got my mini flame torch..

lit it up.. heated the screws + WD/40. and they came out.. twisted my
3rd allen key.. but at least it didnt break!! . IT WORKED.. all
screws backed out..

i would have never tried to head it up.. coz Hot = expand = me thought screw would expand..

so i would have tried to freeze it if no 1 said anything
LOL

Thanks husky.. u sure are a Savage Guru.. CHEERS

Fire,

The eason Husky told you to heat the engine is probably because the threadlocks get soft when heated. Red locktite I think gives way at about 250F. Heat the engine up, locktite gives way, screws come out.

That's the theory anyway.

Chris

Go to www.ato.gov.auand download e-Tax 2004.

You do the whole thing on your PC, and because it is your first return you will have to print it out and post it. Next year, since you will have submitted a tax return previously, you will be able to send it online. It is very cool.

Now, let's keep this thread on topic.

Chris.
