Duratrax Evader BX

Well this is the car that started it all, the Duratrax Evader BX, bought from Models and Hobbies 4 U in Boronia. This has been a great car to me, only ever broken 1 part on it, a front A arm. Although I it doesn't get treated as roughly as the slash does. It started with a 20t motor which now resides in a tool box and now runs a 540 and a XL-5 speedy. The tires are bald as buggery and have been for a number of years, but I'll get some now ones soon.
An amazing this happened today, story time. In early December 2009 me and a mate took our buggies to our school (it was holidays) as the schools got some nice areas to run cars on. And during the day I lost the wing of it. Today, 20 months later we were running the cross country and my mate found the wing while on the course. Its a bit bent, but its still useable I think. I thought this was pretty amazing finding it this long after it was lost.

BTW Micro T and red buggy aren't mine.

Traxxas Slash

Thanks mitch and Houda

Well this is my slash, bought in December 2009 from RC Garage in Boronia. It started with the stock gear, before switching to the VXL system in July 2010, this was then sold in March 2011 to buy a Novak system so I could race it. This failed twice and nothing has come of it, so I have bought a Xrun 8.5t thanks to Big-Block and hopefully will be getting a Mamba Max Pro as well so I can get running again.
Many stories of this, can't seem to remember any right now so I'll have to wait till later. When its running it gets used quite hard including things like bmx jumps and my jumping practice which is setting up a jump next to a large hedge for a soft landing.
My current setup is this.
ESC~Mamba Max Pro (soon hopefully)
Motor~Xerun 8.5t
Servo ~ Traxxas 2075 (stock)
Radio ~ Spektrum DX3S
Receiver ~ Spektrum SR3300T
Shocks ~ Stock Traxxas
Oil ~ Venom Hollywood 60wt
Spacers (F) ~ 3mm
Spacers (R) ~ 12mm
Tyres - Front ~ Stock traxxas S1, Pro-Line Bow Ties M2 - Mounted on Pro-Line Split Six wheel, Pro Line Trencher SC M2 - Mounted on Pro-Line Split Six Beadlocks
Body ~ Jconcepts Manta SC or stock Traxxas 'Fabtech'

For the full story on this check out the official slash thread.

Cen sp1

This was a car my next door neighbour gave me in January 2011 as he was having a clean out. Its from about 2000, and its a nitro but they made both electric and nitro versions of it, so very gradually I'm converting it. I've taken all the nitro bits out and I've got the motor mount but I need a couple of transmission shafts and a spur gear to complete it.

Micro twister pro heli

I got this for my birthday this year. Was bought from Models And Hobbies 4 U.
Great little heli, very robust, bounced of many things during use and only broken one little plastic, pointy thing attached to the flybar. Which I still need to fix. Also I think the flybar might be screwed as when I fly it it goes into a hover, and theres like a whack sound which I think is the flybar hitting the rotors, then it generally fall back to earth. The metal ends on the flybar have a few small dints which I suspect is what is causing the problem. But anyway when it works its great fun.

how come your converting from nitro to electric
Electric is where it's at.
haha what he said, but the engines all locked up, air filter was cactus, lines are all buggered. It wasn't going to be fast as a nitro so I thought I'd have not fast, but and a clean and easy electric
Did you drop the one in the middle into the washing machine....It Shrunk... nice little collection
Thanks towie, but the micro t and the red buggy are a mates not mine.

The last few weeks I've been running a Novak Havoc Pro SC and ballistic 10.5 in by evader. Its been running great, but 2 days ago I stripped the gears in my servo and I'm now looking to upgrade. So what should I get, I know the Traxxas 2075s are reliable and cheap, but is there anything that is just a little faster thats not too expensive?

funny about the 2075, my stock one is still going strong after nearly 2 years.
I was thinking about the Savox SC-1258TG, they seem to have a good rep and the figures are good too, 0.08 sec/60°, 166 oz-in / 12 kg-cm.
Thoughts guys?

Alrighty then, now to find some money haha. Even since my birthday in July I've pretty much had a constant stream of things coming from various hobby shops around the globe, not that I'm complaining though:D

Well just 2 months after I said the 2075 in my slash was going well, it took a dump on me tonight:( Just after I rebuilt the shocks.
So anyway thinking about getting a Savox SC-1258TG for it, this should work pretty well in the slash shouldn't it?

haha yeah, know what you mean, although mine are reasonably organized out in the garage. I had to relocate as mum kept complaining about the dirt being inside, haha.

Alrighty so now I've added an e revo to the stable courtesy of Matt.

So at this stage electronics wise, it has a castle 2200 and the dual #2075's and thats it. I've got an Xerun 150 and a Spektrum Sr300 coming in the mail, at least one I will have tomorrow, hopefully both.

I'm gunna make this a more traditional Monster rather than truggy style low to the ground. I plan to get a proper truck body for it some time soon.
Whats everyones thoughts on shock oil? I was thinking around 50wt.
