Howdy people,

I'm about to install a receiver hump pack in my Savage. My question is this. If I get a hump pack with the separate charge cable, can I leave the pack plugged into the receiver permanently and merely switch off the "master" switch on the truck when I want to recharge?

I'm a spazz with stuff like this, and what I want to do is simply pop the hump pack in where the "AA" pack is now, and route the charge cord outside the radio box somewhere (probably cable tie to the roll bar), then to recharge, simple ensure the truck is switched off and plug the charger into the recharge cable.

Is this right? I shouldn't need to bother with a separate power switch just for the hump pack?

Thanks for any advice!

Yep, should be OK.

Best limit your onboard charging to a trickle charger only, though.

If using a quick charger there might be heat & gas emissions issues with the battery in a sealed space.
