RC car wont drive but wheels will turn and stutters in and out, PLEASE HELP!!!

Ive just got into RC cars and no nearly nothing about them, the first time driving it it was working well then after about a minute it stopped moving. I could still move the wheels fine but i couldnt reverse or drive. It would then start working again for a few seconds then would stop again. I dont know whatto do and would gladly appreciate some help as i dont know what to do or what im doing.
