I know there's a large R/C car following on the Coast ; I drive past the Gilston tracks on my way to the flying field , but how many Gold Coast car drivers are also into helis ?
Council will apparently let us fly on the cricket field adjacent to the car tracks , but its a bit small for my helis !!

I'd be interested to hear from any one interested in helis, we have a fun heli group on the coast too ......

I'll be wherever you are .........

;);)
I'm feeling the love Peter!

Hopefully weather will be good down here this weekend and I'll get a chance to do some packs.

Cheers,

Steve
Are you blokes talking about Saturday or Sunday?
Sunday , but Saturday is always a probability too ..........

As long as the rain doesn't happen ......

Are you free ???? :D:D
Yep - happy for a additional fly on Saturday if that works for some? Wife wants to go "phone" shopping.... pfft.
Usual routine on sunday - just whether we go Ripley\LARCS or shopping for wet weather gear :)
QRCHA's Ripley field will be going off tomorrow !!

Even the weather gods appear to be on our side .....
What an awesome day!

Lots of flying , lots of FUN , NO carnage , I flew a couple of planks again , great weather and brilliant company,,

the perfect way to spend a day ......

Oh , flew of couple of my FBL helis with the latest (V3 ) Beastx firmware , it's hard to imagine , but it's even better than it was ..

Was FUN FUN FUN , but thats pretty normal at QRCHA's fields anyway .....
If only Saturday hadn't been a disaster weather wise. Unfortunately I had my last rugby games for the kids yesterday, so that ruled me out.

So... I am a chance on the weekend of 10/11 September... but I am on a full sized plank on Wednesday to buy toys in HK... so this weekend is out.
So... I am a chance on the weekend of 10/11 September...

So marked on the calendar .......
So what goodies came back from HK; and are you still a chance tomorrow??:eek:

;);)
Nothing came back from HK. Lot's of "toys" to be had, but nothing too serious that I considered luggage worthy.

I had a look at the i-Copter, which is cool, but the mCP-X has spoilt me.

Loads of other stuff that was luggage worthy... suits, shirts and jackets (all tailor made of course), some great "knock off" stuff, electronics, etc.

As for tomorrow.... I forgot I have the Brothers Junior Rugby Trophy Day 11am to 4pm. So, I will not be out to play tomorrow. This is my last weekend of Rugby commitments though, so the weekends that my wife is working shift... are now considered as "Gold Pass" heli weekends.
Ouch! Thats all i have to say about my weekend and last few days.
No - its all ok, I didn't smash my heli but a nasty nasty flu \ headcold smashed me. Saturday Afternoon thru Tuesday evening just about bed ridden, no way was going to risk flying with a stuffed up head on Sunday. Went to work today - still 1/4 sick - basic stuffy head but way over the coughing and spluttering stage.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday (last) - I am really looking forward to coming Sunday 18th after missing last weekend and fingers crossed mail man arrives by COB Friday as well :)

I have ordered 8 x 6s 3600's on Tuesday night (4 sets of 12S for the 'Rex 600) but lets see how fast the shipping is from Sydney HK w\house. Sunday should also see a test flights of the same battery pack in the Gaui 550. If it goes well, will standardize my battery fleet with 6S 3600 30C -40C Turnigy and switch over connectors to EC5 on the Gaui as-well.

I plan on trying to keep separate paired "6S sets" of packs for 600 - but still one more thing that's common and reduces running costs if I can reuse\recycle ones that start to loose some of their pop over to the Gaui etc, or if a 6s pack in a 12S 600 set's drops a cell the Gaui gets another 6S good pack etc.

Hey Chris, did you get a chance to have a look at some hobby shops? What are like?

What kind of knock off electronics did you buy? I would love to go over there

With 2 teenage boys, and 1 tween, the big request was headphones. I came back with 3 x Beats by Dr Dre "Studio" edition, and 2 x Beats by Dr Dre "Tour" edition. All up... about $140 Aussie dollars. I have to say, the Studio editions sound fantastic too. Only difference between these and the "real thing" is the noise isolation circuit. The knock offs have one... sort off... it's just not very good. That said, given they are for the kids... I didn't really care.

The real things over here are about $499-$599 a pair. The cheapest genuine ones I saw in HK were about $360... the ones I bought... $36.
Tingalpa MAC have a " heli day " this Sunday , but it's only 9am till 2pm , I doubt very many will drive anywhere for a couple of hours !,,
I know most of the Coast crew will be at Canungra still ...... I will ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
QRCHA's Dakabin field , north Brisbane , will be rocking next weekend ; 19/20 Nov ; when we host our Xmas/end of year event..

No charge for QRCHA members , a small fee for non members will apply; but everyone's welcome; although MAAA m/ship is essential ... Food and drinks supplied .....

Lots of great flying ; all the usual great help and advice , and lots of FUN , with night flying on Saturday night too ...

It'll be awesome!!
It's the new year and there have been plenty of new faces at QRCHA's Canungra field. I haven't seen so many sets of training gear in use at the same time.

Check out our details at www.qrcha.com.

Regards

Acrow
Don't care for the weather forecast much , so we're still going to have a QRCHA Australia Day get together at the Ripley field tomorrow.

Cheers:D
No worries , there's a lot to learn , hey ..
