Apparantly protoform have had to discontinue anddestroy all their
stocks of the Mazda6 and Dodge Stratus body shells.
http://www.prolineracing.com/ Have a look there the Stratus is already
gone from the website.
Apparantly they didnt get the licensing or something from the
manufacturers, and they have been made to pull them off the market

This is from the dude at Metro Hobby just now when I was placing an
order for a Mazda6 shell.

I better go get some myself then... I scratched mine real bad on Monday, spent too much time on the roof. (That's the prob when one sticks deadweight to the roof and run with ultra-sticky brandnew TakeOff 27s...
)

It handles well, but you have to cut the wing small. Run it at full height and your car will be SLOW... its a bleeding airbrake, too much drag!! Cut it down to about half and the car speeds up again.

Supposedly from Dale Epp, head honcho @ Protoform:-
<BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr style="MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px">

OK - right from the horses mouth regarding PROTOform & PROLINE Dodge bodies.
PROTOform and PROLINE were in a licensing agreement since 1994 with regard to their Dodge/Chrysler likeness products. The actual licensing is handled by independent licensing firms who also have contracts with the auto companies like Nissan, Chevrolet, Daimler/ Chrysler etc. etc. ( Ford is the exception, they do things internally) They're all just trying to get the most money they possibly can for their clients.
Recently, Dodge gave their licensing contract to a different licensing firm and this company in their "wisdom" felt it would be better to give "all" the Dodge RC body-sales contracts to only "one" RC company. We've always tried to present our Dodge and Chrysler likeness products in a positive and professional way that would not damage their corporate image, so naturally we felt this was extremely unfair to PROLINE and PROTOform.
THE GOOD NEWS! This particular licensing firm has since seen that this was in fact not a wise move. As of May 1 2004, PROLINE and PROTOform will resume with the production and sale of Dodge likeness products.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, the RC racer and enthusiast.

Yep, Ford owns a lot of Mazda shares after they nearly went bust in the 1970s.

Proline does use a generic headercard; got the same for all the shells I've gotten... Nissan 350Z, MG ZS, Civic 2dr, Acura RSX, Stratus (ok ok, that's a Dodgy
).

TheLHS must have had subsequent shipments ofMazda6 shells... last w/e's lot didn't have the usual Proline brochure. Compared latest & the 1st and the new ones' protective film seems a lot thinner & a tad perforated.

With the 1st lot there were some molding faults due to dirt contamination, but on the 2nd lot some shells had damage due to machine operator error. The mold bucks are also starting to look rather worn, the crease lines aren't as sharp anymore.

The QC guy at Proline needs to get the sack.

They did a very good job on the MG ZS though -razor sharp creases, nice detailing. First batch new arrival but.
