Sounds like a connector problem. Sure you haven't yanked any wire loose from any point - at plug or PCB?

LRPs work well but not their cases are pretty soft on some of them.

As Jig confirmed in another thread the new LRP importers are on a mission to reintroduce their wares to Oz at "competitive prices", so might be an idea to ask your LHS to check what the local pricing could be before mailordering.

T'is a good idea to have local warranty backup, seeing your trackrecord..

Yep, bad sign.

Sounds like you've connected the battery to the motor wires - is that a possibility??

(FETs blow and the brake FET is jammed short across the battery)

It depends how good your relationship with the shop is... if you're a regular customer who spends heaps of $$ there I'm sure they'll go out of the way to help you. Mightn't be a "free" newie, more likely a discounted replacement or access to their local tech support.

(Busted ESCs aren't hard to fix as long as the repairer has access to the proper parts - like the official importer should.)

Deans are a polarised plug... so you've still got a good case. But something like Corally plugs (aka bullet connectors), you've got a 50:50 chance of getting it wrong *each* time unless you take precautions.

High-end ESCs come without wires anyway... all DIY. Pretty sure the factory's tech team already can tell which wrong connection does what damage, there's only so many different ways you can wrongly connect it up...

If its a "Kyosho Perfex" stay well clear.

~A$130 will buy a Futaba 330CR, imho still the best unit for the price out there. Does down to 13t too plus its got Reverse (& reverse is switchable Off!). Not much else comes close for that price - its mainly due to sharp pricing by the importers!!

Nosram International is about $130 too... but fwd only.

On the horizon is the Novak XRS. Nice unit, has about the same elec specs as the 330 Futaba and physically its shorter but slightly longer. Given its Novak reliability should be good... but only question is pricing.

If under A$150 it'll be a great buy, but methink it'll probably be more.

(For comparison, Futaba MC330CR is US$60 @ Tower and the XRS "limited stocks" is just US$50.Don't forget Novak is US made, so Tower probably gets a fantastic bulk buy. But also... in Oz different companies distributes Novak & Futaba.)

didnt tekin go bust a while ago..

So long ago that they're now Coming Back!!!

They'll be selling some chargers and ESCs again real soon.

But I think your model is on the 'extinct' list...
