Nismo,

Hitec HS-81MG Micro Servo - this allows you to buy the HPI Dual Tierod upgrade - makes steering craploads better.

I also like the Novak Spy ESC - nice and small, reversable (can be disabled), and generally pretty cool.

MRS4 is designed to accept standard radio gear if you don't want to spend all that $$ buying specialised gear that you can't reuse later on a 1/10.

Really depends on how serious you want to get.

At the other end of the scale, the RTR set is usually pretty good value too.

30-45 mins at a minimum...

But you really get bored after about 15.

You'll soon start dreaming about 6-cells by the 10 min mark.

4-cell + standard motor... pretty crummy. You can probably run faster than it.

6-cell + std motor would keep you awake much longer.

6-cell + one of those big block motors... gives the M03+SportTuned a run for their money. (But hell, little cars aren't meant to go that fast!!)

umm where can i buY tyres???.....

LHS stocks some HPI stuff last time I looked, if you don't mind paying their price. (no idea what it is anymore)

getting a tekin- esc.....

Nup, doesn't mean squat to the car. Even the most basic 1/10 ESC would be overkill for a Micro with stock motor, or any reasonable hopup motor even.

Your biggest hassles are:-

1) your ESC might be too big. You gotta find space for it & the RX... some bodies like the Viper has the bonnet so low, the top deck is useless. You gotta put it on the rear parcel shelf then... which can cause wierd handling.

2) your ESC might not run off 4-cells. Or your RX might not like 4.8V either. So of course the obvious thing to do is... use SIX cells!!

A 6-cell pack made with NiMH AAs 1500-2000mAh should be able to survive on a standard quickcharger doing up to 3A.

What are you using for your 7.2V packs currently?

ahahah i have to say...chasing the cat around the house has never been
so much fun..its small, but seems so quick in a small space...love
sliding around the lino in the kitchen....hahhaha and the bump
inbetween the kitch and lunge.....woohoo..i gotta get a faster motor
and a 6 cell pack...it was cool though..bought a 4cell AA charger for
now...it came with 4 1800mah nicads..pretty crap..but do the job for
now...also came with 2 1800 nimh batts...havent used as its only 2..but
got 8 off the same nimh batts ont there way from ebay..yeah....then i
might buy some more..maybe some 2000mah nimh ones...woohoo..the will
last forever on a stock motor and 6 cell pack..geez..gets boring after
20 mins

There are NiMH and then there are NiMH. Quite a few of the "consumer" type NiMH aren't meant for high-drain applications like RC cars, they rate the capacity based upon a 1/20thxC amp draw (ie over 20 hrs). If you try suck more current than that, you usually don't get near the rated capacity.

Some AAs & AAAs also warm up a lot if you have high current drain... sign of high internal resistance.

To date... the best NiMH I've found locally & good value are the Eveready Energizer (green & silver) cells that are Made in Japan. (Avoid the Made in Mexico ones!) They were 1850 and now they're 2000... have seen them @ $10/pr at many places, including supermarkets & my post office!

They pump out current as good as the best batts I've seen, I like them.
