hello hello,
i missed coffs this year. after all of the talk that i have heard (and that i'm still hearing), i'm keen as mustard to make it down for the next one. Is there any one motel/hotel that is being booked out??
Would like to stay amoungst it all for obvious reasons (night flying over the roads :)) to name but a few reasons
Michael
Hey Guys
Looking to hopefully come up to this one, and have a holiday with the family at the same time. :D
From the pics I saw of this years looks like a good event.

i booked the coachmens inn, but most around the same rd.
just stay clear of ocean plams i think. peter can tell more. but be quick as i think it will be pritty big this year.

Bill one of our members is a mechanic at Lindsey brothers and Brown and Hurly Trucks have donated a big tent type thingey. We can put you under ther for shade.
It will probably double as the frequency control tent so you should get some traffic.
I will get another flyer organised with accomadation details, soon.
It is 6 months away though you know.
thanks mate,
went to goldy x-mas fun fly and nearly sold out.
looks like i will have to take a few dozen canopies. well thats what the goldy guys are saying. should be big.

thanks

So if a bloke can drive all the way up from Melbourne for this event, will he get to see this mythical Westland Wessex??
Geeeeeeeezz mate .. talk about applying the pressure!!!! :( I actually did get as far as finding it, now I need the motivation ......;)

You know I love you Peter. ;)

Pressure?? Pressure??

4 reminders in almost 9 months can't count as pressure, you're married aren't you, personally I get more pressure than that in one day about picking up my clothes!

So back to the question, which you didn't answer... if a bloke was to drive up from Melbourne for the Coffs event, would he get to see this elusive heli? That would give you another 4 months to get it out of storage.

Sooooo??? :D
I suppose , IF I can refind it , and IF I can fit it in the car, there's a slight chance it could be spotted at Coffs........:D.. There's even a chance , IF I get motivated , it MAY even FLY again ..

So... a drive from Melbin MAY get the desired result.....:p

LOL.... my thinking was; as it clearly isn't getting the love and respect it deserves then it might fancy being taken back to a loving Melbourne home in the back of a Chevrolet.

I'm looking for as many reasons as I can to convince the RSM Home Command to give me a leave pass, so far I've come up with;
  1. Give me a chance to improve my eye hand co-ordination,
  2. Get the opportunity to be assessed for my Bronze Heli wings,
  3. Pick up the bargin of the century deal on a Westland Wessex, and
  4. Clock up some required FBT milage on the vehicle.
Of course several of these involve your good self!

OK seriously, I'm done pestering you now. :D
But Skidd

It would cost you about $1472189012.98 in fuel in that monster truck of yours wouldn't it?

Skidd, it seems like you need to practice some good old "sucking up" proceedures. The 4 reasons you've given your Home Commander seem pretty crook if you ask me. I'm no expert on these matters, and I will never, ever, say that I understand how a Home Commander's mind operates.

After 37 years of taking orders from the same Commander, all that I have really understood, is that the rules of "engagement" rarely change: Her way or the highway!

See, your 4 given reasons are all pointing to you. Nothing to appease the Commander. I would have thrown in something like:
* I'll bring you back a new dress/ jewellery/ helic... oops
* When I book the accomodation for Coffs, I may as well book (insert favoured getawy place) for (insert favoured date) at the same time. We might get a discount.
... * and as a last resort, I promise to wash up/ cook/ mow the lawn/ visit your Mum.....( you know the drill).

Good luck with your choice of attack. I hope you have a successful recon for the pending mission! If all else fails, start a hell of a fight a day before due departure, and she'll be pleased to see the back end of you! It's cheaper too.

But I don't have to worry, because it's only a tad over an hours drive from here. So I'll be definitely be at Coffs for a sticky beak.

.... and I bet you can't stop pestering Peter about the WW! ;)
