Well everyone, after a few delays and much anticipation I am happy to announce the 3rd Subscribers Draw for 2011/12 and Fred has up'ed the ante again.

Thanks to RC Hobbies, our prize this round is a 1.3m long, 26cc gas powered, fibreglass hull, ready to run RC Boat.

Due to the late release of this promotion, the price will be drawn on Friday 9 March 2012 at RC Hobbies. I will get Fred to come back to me with timings for the draw.

Hmmm. It's June now, the site has changed hands, 4 months since the last draw. I doubt there will be any more now. Can I get 1/4 of my sub back? lol

I don't care really, I love the site and will still post away happily I just need closure! Is there another draw in the pipeline?

How many threads do you need the question in Brett? As per my response to L-D in the other thread... I will ask the question. Posting the question in multiple threads will not get you an answer any quicker.

Also, irrespective of all of that, as I have said previously, Fred's subscription is annual and it renews on 1 July 2012 (if he chooses to do so). I had already confirmed that the three draws that totalled nearly $1700 for the past 12 months were all there would be for that period, and therefore any expectation you have of another draw prior to July is unfounded.

So are you still the Admin of the site? It must be different being the admin of a site you no longer own. I don't care if there are no more prize draws.

Brett, sorry mate, but for someone that is on the site as much as you... you clearly either don't read (or don't comprehend) what is written.

Myself, along with Steve and Towie, still do everything as far as administering our fantastic community goes. This has been made very clear from day one, and has been no secret.... from that point of view... nothing has changed.

Of course I am still here, and no it is not "different"... it is actually fantastic knowing I can shoot the sh1t with people, and not have to give an ounce of concern as to whether back ups are done, database checks have been performed, etc, etc... and the list was long. So I suppose, on reflection it IS different... but better. Mate I am not going anywhere... I actually like this place... weird ain't it!!

No, it's not weird at all. I am a member of many RC sites and I havn't found one that comes close to the content of this one in Australia.

In regards to prize draws, I'm a member of A LOT of forums over the years and none of them, even the ones with subscriptions have prize draws anywhere near as valuable as here (if at all!) so I consider it a bonus here and wouldn't really be that dismayed it they stopped (although, it was a nice incentive to actually subscribe, along with the other benefits).

We have been trying to get some interest in this, but it seems the only people interested are the ones that might win, no one wants to put a prize up

Sort of disappointed, I think it was a good promotion....certainly got the banter up

Only about 2 and ½ years

Some decisions were made a while back, the forum was sold to VerticalScope and ever since then this place has been in decline. I can't say there's any direct correlation between the two, but this forum is noticeably quieter of late and a lot of old regulars just don't post anymore.
