Well everyone, after a few delays and much anticipation I am happy to announce the 3rd Subscribers Draw for 2011/12 and Fred has up'ed the ante again.

Thanks to RC Hobbies, our prize this round is a 1.3m long, 26cc gas powered, fibreglass hull, ready to run RC Boat.

The prize can be viewed on the RC Hobbies website here: http://rchobbies.com.au/store/product_info.php?cPath=818&products_id=64878

In a nutshell, the specifications of this great price are:

Length: 1310mm
Beam: 400mm
Height: 260mm
N.W.: 7.5kg
G.W.: 15.7kg
G.W.(W/ Radio): 16.3kg
Radio: 2-Channel AM Radio
Hull Material: Fiberglass Composite
Prop Size: D78XP1.4
Power System:Gas 26cc engine

Due to the late release of this promotion, the price will be drawn on Friday 9 March 2012 at RC Hobbies. I will get Fred to come back to me with timings for the draw.

I would like to thank Fred and the RC Hobbies team for yet again supplying an awesome price for the AUSRC.COM community. Those of you that have been around AUSRC.COM for a while know that Fred has been a long time supporter of our site, and frankly I don't think we would have seen the success, growth or longevity without RC Hobbies ongoing support.

For those of you unfamiliar with RC Hobbies, please vist them at http://www.rchobbies.com.au

Regards,
Chris

Yeah there will be a high chance il be sick that night haha
This could end up a two draws in one "Brass Ring". (see Skids word of the day thread) http://www.ausrc.com/forum/showthread.php?30748-Today-word-is-brass-ring&goto=newpost

I just couldn't wait to use that phrase.
Any word on this we are nearly in June
Hi guys,

Yes, I do have an update.

When we first launched these promotions, we said we would try and arrange 3 to 4 draws over the following 12 months. Fred at RC Hobbies excelled in his supply of prizes, and in the past year has supplied $1,697 worth of gear that we have given away to our members.

Fred and RC Hobbies renew their support for AUSRC.COM every 12 months from 1 July 2012, and as such, the next draw will be announced in July.

I am sure that while you would have all loved another draw prior to this, it will give you something to look forward to in July.

I am happy for our subscribers to consider how they would like to rollout this out for the next 12 month period and provide feedback. Fewer draws (like this year) with greater prize values, or smaller prizes more frequently... I can then incorporate this into my discussions with Fred.

Cheers,
Chris.

Smaller prizes drawn more often. Even just gift vouchers
2 big draws and a few little random draws through the year would be good.

I was going to subscribe for the last draw but then lost interest when the prize turned out to be a boat....don't get me wrong, it was an awesome boat but I wouldn't want one :p
11 X $100 prizes a year, with a major christmas draw.

More often is better.

Never thought of supporting the site without a potential payback?

Oh yeah, I've thought about it. But I'm still pretty new here and still getting to know the people. The more time I spend here the more likely I'll be to subscribe, yes.

A small chance to win a cool prize is just added incentive.

*It looks like you were here for atleast 2 years before you started subscribing ;)

I like the idea of every 3 months,
As it gives some one a chance to win something
That they might not be able to afford to buy

Exactly! If there were bigger prizes and they were less frequent, people may loose interest if they never win and might not renew their subs.

Not in this country last time I looked.

yeah a year actually, subbed in Jan 08, up until then they didn't have any subscribers draws that interested me... :D
When it comes down to it,
It’s not about the prize; I think becoming a subscriber is to put a little back into
A forum about a hobby that we all feel passionate about.
If we get something out of it other than help /friendship and knowledge
It’s a bonus.
We had a lot of people that subscribed prior to the Subscribers Draws and have always been very supportive of the community (Monaroman is a good example). This is why we decided to make the annual subscription badges so that people can see just how generous some of our members have been over the years.

The subscribers draw came about because it was seen as a way to give something back to those that have supported AUSRC.COM, and Fred (one of our largest supporters over the history of this forum) has been fantastic with RC Hobbies giving us a mechanism to make this happen.

This is why I am keen to see how we might be able to improve the system moving forward, and it may well be something that we can ultimately discuss with our other sponsors to try and help fill in the gaps between the RC Hobbies sponsored draws if Fred wants to continue with similarly sized prizes and limiting it to 3 or 4 a year. No promises as to what we can achieve, but it is great to have a wish list....

I always use tapatalk how do u sub to this?

Ok then, I'll make a promise (to myself I guess)....

If I'm still a regular visitor/poster at AusRC after one year, I'll subscribe......unless a prize draw tempts me to sub earlier of course :D

What would tempt you? A plank?
If it was an EDF.....yep :)

(I've still got my heart set on that Vampire btw....I've bought the DX5e so there's no turning back now)
