As you will all know, we have had some issues with the speed on the site. This will be getting resolved tonight.

Consequently, the site will be inaccessable between 5pm tonight and approximately midnight. If you try to access the site during these hours you will get a "Down for Maintenance" page.

This is great news as it means that the SQLServer will now be in the same datacentre as the IIS Server, and all of the page loading delays should go away.

Regards,

AUSRC

6 to 8 seconds for a page load on 2mbit connection with no proxy. Much better than the 24+ seconds but I'd hate to think what it's still like on narrowband.

6-8s would have been fantastic for 56k users; they don't know yet there's a better world out there.

OK, the upgrade was finished early. The site is now running on the new SQLServer and so far, so good.

The forum was taking 35 seconds to load (after clicking the forum link in the Navigation menu), and it is now loading in under 2 seconds.... on my cable connection at any rate.

Let us know how it goes for you guys. All feedback would be appreciated.
