Well, after receiving a couple of packages last week, and in anticipation of the arrival of a few more early this week, I though I would update everyone on what the Savage now runs with.... self indulgent I know, but thought people might be interested.

Where it started:
HPI Savage 25 RTR

The engine:
Team Orion Wasp .26 (Picco .26 P3 Monster) running Rotostart
Motor Saver High Performance Air Cleaner
Golden Horizon Fuel Filter

Drive Train:
HPI 16T Clutch Bell
GPM 48T Delrin Spur
4 Spider Gear Diff Mod
HPI Heavy Duty Dogbones (all 6)
HPI Heavy Duty Drive Cups (Front and Rear - Tranny to Diff)
HPI Heavy Duty Diff Output Cups
HPI Dual Disk Brake
(Envy Racing Dual Disk and Hot Bodies Heavy Duty Hex sitting on the shelf - just in case)

Wheels, Tyres andSuspension:
Savage Central TXT-1 Adapters
Proline 40 Series Outback Welds
Proline 40 Series Big Joes
(The 40 Series Velocities and Big Joes are now shelved as Spares)
RC Raven Triple Rate Springs

Electrics:
Futaba 3PDF FM TX
Futaba R133F RX
Venom 1100 Mah and Team Orion 1200Mah RX Hump Packs
Hobbico Switch w/- Charge Lead
Ernst Charge Jack (Radio box lid mounted)
Hitec HS-5925 Digital/Coreless Servo - Throttle (.08 Sec @ 6V)
Hitec HS-5945 Digital/Coreless Servo - Steering (180oz/in @ 6V)

Body:
Proline 2004 Ford F150
(HPI Stocker is sitting on the shelf)

Other Mods:
Throttle Linkage Mod using Ofna Parts
Steering Servo Mod using Kyosho Servo Saver (Inferno MP-5)

Field Equipment:
Hitec HFP-10 Servo Programmer to program the Digital Servos.
Electrifly Triton Battery Charger/Cycler.
Wing Tote 1/8 Extreme Deluxe Field Bag (Holds the lot, including the truck)

So whats left to do:
GPM Alloy Diff Cases
GPM Alloy Front and Rear Bulkheads
GPM Alloy Shock Mounts
GPM Alloy Fuel Tank Mounts and Fuel Tank Guard
GPM Alloy Throttle Linkage Mount
GPM Centre Skid Plate
(All silver - awaiting email from MRC to say he has it all in stock)

I think once all of this is done I will have what I consider to be the perfect Savage. A perfect combination of rugged and functional. Used alloy to strength the bits thatshouldn't bend, and left the stock plastic/nylon bits where I want give (shocks, arms, front and rear skids, bumpers, etc).

Comment if you feel so inclinded.

Makes my Terra looka bit lame.

But then again, bashed on the weekend with 2 T's and a Savage .25 and mine was the only one running at the end of the day!!

You forgot to mention the "components" that you had to buy the missus in order for her to allow you to buyyour hop ups!!

Sounds good - it's a shame that we're not a bit closer - would like to see it in action!

BTW - I'm heading up to Newcastle on Sunday to meet up with JJJrules and his truckzilla - no doubt John will post when the thing is broken in and fully operational.

Cheers,

Steve
