Anyone doing FPV?

I have been running an FPV setup for awhile now and was wondering if there were many on here doing the same?
It really adds more enjoyment to RC's
It would be nice to be able to swap ideas.

Current setup consists of..

Car and Radio

Car - Quantum Flux 3s.
TBS Crossfire Lite, with a TBS 8ch Diversity.
Controller - Radiolink RC6GS V3.

FPV
VTX - RushFPV Max Solo 2.5w antenna - TBS Triumph Pro.
Camera - Foxeer Cat 3.
Receiver - Eachine 5" monitor
Antennas, Vas Pepperbox and Vas Crosshair Extreme.

The Flux is a great bang for the buck, RC car and has done really well for both FPV and bashing/jumping.

I would be interested to see what others hear are using and how far they have managed to travel. At present, the best I have done, is 600 metres with clear video feed. But that was LOS, I am still playing around with setups to try and deal with tress etc and interferance in the video feed.

As you can see, I have everything mounted on top, this makes it easier to not only get at, but change out if needed. Plus I prefer this view when driving. The roll bar, serves not only as protection, but also a mount for the fan and lights. The camera is housed in a small peice of aluminium tube and the antenna is also housed in some ali tube.

Yeah and because it is not as common on cars, makes it a little harder to figure out what will work and what won't.

When I first started looking into FPV, it was a real nightmare, trying to rap my head around all of the different components and what they were used for, at myy age, the ole brain doesn't liike working to hard.

Driving around in FPV is great fun and adds something different from the usual bashing and ramping. And speaking of ramping, doing it in FPV is really fun, not being able to see when you jump off a ramp and then landing perfectly gets the ole ticker pumping.

At present, I have been trying to increase the range. While I can easily drive 600+ metres wiith the Crossfire, I am having problems with the video signal. Because trees, houses etc cause interferrance, I am trying diffrrent setups and antennas, to try and break our 600 metre record.

A screen, I am unable to use goggles becaause of glasses.

Using a screen suits us, because we live in a small rural town, we drive on the roads, so we are able to see cars that are travelling down thee street we are on and we can then move off the road.

Hi Jason,

I have tried various omnis, but I have found that directional are the bbest for Long Range RC Cara. The penatration is needed for ground level obsticles, in our case, bushland and houses.
I am looking at going to either 2.4 or 1.3, but because I have invested so much in 5.8 I am not ready to move over yet.

I am using a RushFPV Max Solo, which is 2.5w.

I have some new toys to play with as well, in my quest to get longer range, I purchased a VAS Avenger, to pair with my VAS Crosshair Extreme and for the car, I bought a Minion Pro, Ion and a Sky Hammer. So I am looking forward to testing them out.

For some fun with the Great Grandson, I purchased Combat FPV, which is essentially laser tag for drones. But I am poutting them on the cars instead. We normally play chasy and hide and seek with the cars, so this will add something more to do with them.
The Combat FPV consists of a control board, target senser and gun. when wired up it displays the amount of bullets you have, along with an aiming cross hair. It also displays hit notifications both fr being shot as well as shooting and hitting your opponent. It can also interact with the cars servo, making it shake when hit.
