Just bought my first RC car, a Tamiya TT-02 chassis to build, to go with my Toyota Yaris Cross.
Love modelling anything. From plastic model kits to wooden And this hobby combines modelling with a workable end result!
Already have a querie about the build of the tt-02 and testing the motor before proceeding further with the build. I’m worried the drive shaft doesn’t rotate now the motor is fitted. Where should I direct my questions on this forum?

Welcome to the hobby mate. Does the driveshaft just have more resistance than without the motor or is it full on stuck as if there's something jammed in there? As there should be more resistance even with the motor turned off, though you should still be able to turn it by hand (I'd usually turn it from the wheels as its easier but you get the idea).

Thanks Sandman77
In fact I’ve since taken off the motor because I realise I’ve got to see if my electrics are going to work. As a complete newbie I’m still learning what the electric parts are, they’re names and function etc!
My problem now is:
Outside the chassis.
I’ve charged the batteries, I’ve placed batteries in the transmitter. I’ve connected the servo and ESC to the receiver channel 1 and 2, and have the switch ready. And have connected the motor to the batteries. Apparently the transmitter is already bound to the receiver.
Anyway, I’ve turned on the transmitter, got a red and green constant light. I turned on the receiver, and have a flashing red light. And nothing happening, no beeps, no reaction with the trigger or the wheel??
I’m guessing my next step is to see if the transmitter and receiver indeed need to be bound.
How do you post photos on the forum?, maybe photos of my setup would help?

I’ve found my Transmitter won’t bind successfully? I’m tempted to got out and buy another better transmitter.
Plus I think I’ve solved the problem of the stuck propeller shaft. After having to do a lot of disassembly I found both main differential gears would turn only one way and shaft was still stuck. Then I noticed the gear recess in the chassis had 2 protruding bits of plastic which was stopping the differential gears from turning!
Then I saw that these protrusions were caused by the 2 screws that attached the bumpers to the car. Ive double checked and I was using the correct screws, MA1’s. By not screwing in too far they not interfere with the differential gears anymore. I now have the motor installed and the propeller shaft is now turning freely.
Is this a well known problem?

What brand of Radio and esc are you using, I couldn't tell you what the LED colours mean with knowing that and googling the manual to see myself. So I'd start by looking in the manual for both the binding process and then programming the ESC once you know its bound. The steering servo should work fine once its bound but the ESC will likely requrie programming and is usually a proccess that involves puttting the throttle to 0% and 100% in a certain order. But this should all be in the various manuals which came with the kit.

For posting photos I use imgur.com and then use the image link in the insert image button as shown below when you reply.

My original Transmitter was the FSFlysky GT2F. Just couldn’t get it to bind? The manual was very poor. Not even a trouble shooting guide. I might take it back to my local shop.
So bought the Spectrum DX3 and worked first time!
Have now got the car chassis up and running. ‘just need to prepare the body.
When greasing parts as required, how much grease do you use, just a smear? Do you fill the transmission box full of grease? Can you use grease from an auto shop?

Congratulations on starting your RC car hobby! It's a fun and rewarding hobby that combines modeling and practical skills.

Regarding your query about the drive shaft, it's normal to have some resistance when the motor is fitted, but it should still be able to rotate by hand. If it's completely stuck, there might be something jammed in there that needs to be removed. As for where to direct your questions on the forum, there should be a section dedicated to the Tamiya TT-02 chassis or general RC car building and troubleshooting where you can get help from experienced hobbyists.

Regarding your current problem with the electrics, it sounds like you have done everything correctly. The flashing red light on the receiver might indicate that it's not receiving a signal from the transmitter, so binding them might be necessary. You can usually find instructions on how to bind them in the user manual or online forums. Posting photos of your setup can definitely help the community diagnose any issues you might be having. Usually, you can upload photos to an image-hosting website like Imgur and share the link in your forum post.

Good luck with your build and don't hesitate to ask for help if you encounter any more issues!
