2.4Ghz FRsky receiver range quality

Most 2.4ghz radio setups only have short little aerials from the receiver (like a couple of inches if that) as far as positioning goes I've never reallly heard of any position being any better or worse in terms of range, I'd be placing where it works best for ease of wiring and COG if you feel that is necessary.
