You can use any cells in any car... no rules unless you're racing!


Your main problem is finding the cells; rarer sizes can be much more expensive.


All batteries charge the same way, if the charger has adjustable current that's the best. Rule of thumb - don't go more than "3xC" which means if your battery is rated at 1000mAh, don't charge more than 3A.

ok...so if i got 6 off thos 2/3 1200mah nimh batts....i can charge on a toytraders 1200mah nicad charger???..

What's that charger anyway, one of their AC clockwork 15 min ones?


If so, you might have to let it run maybe 15-20 mins.


Just keep checking the temp though, take it off if the batts ever get too warm to comfortably touch.

That old boat anchor only pumps about 2-3A into the battery... even a 1200mAh pack would barely be charged after two turns of the knob. 1-turn gives a half charged pack... for "safety" reasons haha.


You should consider investing in a decent Peak charger... so cheap these days. Even that Annsman one (big white boofy box) looks pretty decent, haven't heard any complaints about it.

yes i have to buy a new one..damn.....less stuff for micro now..ahrghhh....hmm...

any one know where i can pick up a cheap one??..ebay maybe?
