Hello everyone
Newbie here recently bought my first RC Buggy its a HSP Racing Dune Buggy.
firstly love the car so far but last night when out having a blast it started making a really loud crunching sound whilst driving. Does anyone have advice before I start pulling it apart for the first time.
No sand in gear at motor this is as far as i got tonight i think the issue is in rear diff just from feel etc need some better tools that i will pick up tomorrow aswell
First thing I'd check are the bevel gears at the ends of the drive shaft, just make sure they mesh correctly and don't have to much slop. If the shaft can move backward and forward to much it can cause the gears to slip.
If it has a gear diff make sure the gearbox holds it tightly together so the flater out drive gears don't lose mesh with the bevel gears in the diff. This happened on old tamiya frogs, fixed by putting a washer between the outdrive gear and bearing to push it back together.
thanks rustoeki and everyone i pulled apart both diffs and remeshed last night seems to be running nicer now. still a little noisier then when first bough but alot better.
