HPI Trophy Truggy Flux Diff oil recommendations?

Hey,

I'm not sure what diff oil weight to use for my front and rear diff. I changed my center diff oil recently after I recommendation to put in 50 000wt oil.

I was thinking since the center one is so heavy, then 6000/7000 at the front and 4000/5000 at the rear?

Any recommendations would help.

Thank You! :)

50k, 20k etc diff oil is to thick for a 1/8 buggy, more for monster trucks.
10,000 in the front is about as high as you need, thicker front diff oil reduces steering, I run 7k in the front diff of my race buggy.
The centre diff gives you the drive, but to thick & you end up with other handling problems, thicker oil in centre will make car pick up speed faster but can also be harder to control, I run 5k in the centre diff, might go to 7k like the front.
The rear diff has the thinnest oil, normally around 2-5k but 3-4k is common, I run 4k in my rear diff as going to thick will make it harder to corner & reduces steering, some ppl run as thin as 1-2k as it makes cornering easier.
Starting with something like 5000-5000-3000 cst is a good start & will work alright on most tracks.
Diff oils have a big effect on traction, cornering & steering, going very thick is not normally done on 1/8 buggies.
Running 50k is a bit over the top & is not needed in 1/8 buggies & the centre diff can be thinner, depends on the buggy & the conditions its being used in & on the drivers driving style.
Truggies may use a little thicker oil but I doubt it would be as thick as 50k etc, specially if racing, but if not racing then thicker would be ok, just not as thick as you were told.
