Looking at getting my first drone

    Hi guys,

I'd like to get my first drone over the holiday period. The last couple of weeks I have been looking around, and I feel I have narrowed it down to 2 choices: DJI Phantom Vision 2+ or the Blade 350 QX3 AP.

I am looking at getting one targeted at photo/video.

I understand that DJI have been around for sometime and have the more experience/support for these types of products.

On the other hand, I have noticed that my local hobby shop Model Flight, stock the Blade 350 QX3 AP and support may be easier to get too.

Firstly, I would like to get your opinions on the two, or alternatively even suggest some other options.
Secondly, I wont lie, I have never flown a drone...so ideally I want one that is straight forward to operate. I have read up on the two, and it does suggest they aren't too difficult to fly?

    Thanks

    Hey,

I would spend $100 on a small quad like the Blade NanoQX & learn how to fly first. All the DJI Phantom modelled drones are easy to fly in GPS mode, and self stabilise etc, however if you don't know what to do when you actually run into a situation where you lose control, it is going to cost you a lot of money / or even worse, injure people / damage property.

    That's my friendly advice...

    Have to agree with Equinox
Much better to lose a $100 unit than a $1000 unit
I have never owned either of the quads you named I have been practicing on cheaper unit's and learning the controls
    you cant get enough RC

That makes sense guys, thanks for the advise.
Well i did some looking around, and it seems like a lot of people are recommending the Blade Nano QX.
I picked one up on eBay from the US.

Hopefully after a few months, I'll be confident in upgrading to a Phantom or something.

    Thanks again, merry xmas!
