    carol park off road track

Hi all just thinking this may be a good place to ask. Does anyone know who lools after the off road track at carol park (QLD)? Just curious about who upkeeps it. Wether its council or a club.

No one. Word is the Council submitted the land to a local Rc car club, and after building it the club disbanded. It was going to have a grand stand and big lights for night racing. That's why there are those grey metal boxes on each corner. What you see is what you get. That track is not as used as it was 12mths ago. Its to hash and you can wreck your car in no time.

Yea i drive past every day from work. Stoped in once and was terified to try and even get through the ruts and erosion. Instead stuck with redbank.

So would i be corect in assuming its the council responsible for it now?

Is it a spot peoople would go to? I know i would.

Wow that sux if thats what happened, going through all the troubles to get council land & getting a track built etc, only to let it go, its a pitty because more track &/or clubs around would most likely encourage more people to get involved.
If it was me I would go clean it up a bit if its not to bad, then just start using it until told not to by council.

Not even the council looks after it. All that they might do is go in the compound and pick up any litter lying around. People go there all the time and its open to the public. I was there last weekend running my Lst xxl.

Na Ozziii, this place needs a bit more than just a shovel and qn afternoon. I would probably goas far as saying that it needs an excavator and a weekend atleast.

Sounds like it would be alright with some track work to fix up the ruts etc.

Bullet, how do you find the paddock with your rig? The erosion ruts mess you much?

What do you mean by track work? A few hundred laps or elbow grease?

fill or smooth ruts or something like that, but if its as bad as you say then yeah might need a bobcat or something.
Gets a bit expensive then though.
