Newbie's First Truck?
G'day All
Went to the big steam and machinery show at Clarendon on the weekend and saw these amazing RC trucks for the first time.
I did get a chance to have a quick chat to a couple of the guys when they were setting up for the 50 trailer pull, but then had to leave.
So, I have had a look on you tube, joined this forum, and have a few questions.
1. Any recommendations for a first truck build? I have built other RC cars/buggies in the past, so know the general principles.
2. Would it be better to build a trailer first, to ease into the game?
3. Any recommendations on where to buy them, bearing in mind cost and service.
4. How do I contact the club who had the display at Clarendon, and where are they based?
Thanks
Garry

Well, no replies to this thread, so after some advice from crisis-time in another thread, and Adrian from the NSW RC Truck group. I now have a Tamiya Globeliner 6x4 COE on order. Can't wait to get my hands on the kit and start the build.

Thanks Guys, OK I will do a build thread from a beginners point of view.
I have a mate who has an Acco with a drop deck trailer on club plates, so I am thinking I might model his truck. From the photos of the Globeliner the grill and headlights are different, wont know what else until the kit arrives and I can have a good look at the cab.....
Will keep you posted

Well, the kit is in the country, I will be picking it up from Adrian on Sunday.
The Tamiya NSW RC Semi Trucks NSW group (what a mouthful) are having a display and running their trucks at the country fair at Mamre House in Western Sydney on Sunday.
