    E conversion viability / worthwhile?

Sorry if this has been coverd already.

I've just bought a 360mm cheapy dual rotor gyro unit, I've outgrown it aleady its too light for outdoors and far to big for indoors.

I've read the beginners guide/ sticky.

There's a synergy nitro on eVilbay that only needs radio gear and engine.

Would it be worth buying and setting up as nitro or an E conversion?

I've looked at kits and rtf on a few of the sites and they are either just out of my budget ATM or just under 450 class or micro.

I'm mainly looking to do basic 3d fight, the synergy E5 in the vid on their site is nuts!

One thing I'm not sure on is when doing an E conversion is the esc and servo setup.

Anyone done a successful E conversion? What was involved?

Or am I better off saving a bit longer and going rtf/ bind and fly?

    Thanks in advance.

Forgot, what's the difference between fly bar and fly barless?

Fly bar to me is a bit like a stabilizer? Kind of like a gyro in a way.. ?

Very few E conversions are viable, most involve frames and drive train changes, which can cost lots.. I don't know the synergy helis at all , but make sure you can get parts! they appar discontinue models at will , and have little parts backup ...

Flybarless helis have no flybar!! , they use a 3 axis gyro to control elevator and aileron (cyclics ) as well as the tail .. FBL is the way to go .....

    Thanks Peter.

Seems I've misunderstood the class sizing. It doesn't refer to the rotor diameter does it?....

Anyone know anything about the mystery brand trex clone? There a few 450 size on eBay.

I may post a wtb here and see if anyone has upgraded before I go the eBay route.

No real shops near enough me. Have to travel 2 1/2 hrs for a shop and I have no idea weather theyre any good or not.
