Hey All,

Has anyone had a look at the Hobbyking Quanum Nova?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...Waypoint_QuadCopter_Mode_2_Ready_to_Fly_.html

Looks like it has some pretty good features for the price (AU$330ish) including waypoint flying, however there are questions around the build quality and obviously how easy it is to program. It is basically a rebadged Cheerson CX-20

Love the fact that the 'external antenna' is just for show!

Regardless, for the price, I am tempted!

Love to hear opinions.....

OMG...everyone is jumping on the quad bandwagon...

I agree the HK version looks to be a re badged CX-20, and the features look impressive that's for sure...like any new brand to the market, I would like to see some actual results of flights before I dropped any cash on one...

Just had a quick look at the HK site...bloody back order...the bonus of free shipping doesn't help when they don't have stock...argh

If you get one, don't forget some videos and a write up, I would be keen to hear what you think :)

Oh...and I hate the external antenna...it looks weird and if it is only for show....why add extra weight?

I have just received my Quanum Nova from Hobby King, took 7 days to arrive from Hong Kong.

I opened it up and placed the props on and charged the batteries.

I would like to say that I have not flown any type of aircraft before, I managed to get the Nova off the ground and flew it around in manual mode for about 5 minutes, in this time it felt quiet easy to fly and quiet stable.

Unfortunately I lost concentration for a split second and the Nova hit the dirt, most damage to the skids and the antenna on the back which holds the magnatrometer.

Hope to get her in the air again for some more practice and will post videos once I am game enough to put the GoPro under it.

That's bad luck! I had a Phantom do a fly away on me late last year... nothing worse than watching over $1.2K of quad fly around randomly with absolutely zero control.

I didnt know they had a magnetrometer on them! :)
