Yeah, it's also going to be sad to see the old track go. It's been there for over 20 years as far as I know and this next race meeting will definitely be the last one it'll see. We plan on salvaging as much stuff from it as we can as it'll be gone by next week.....gone for good.
Ah well, I guess there's plenty of racing vids on YT so it'll never be forgottenLast edited by Vital-Blurs; 19-03-2016 at 07:46 PM.

A huge amount of progress made today. Massive thanks to all those who dropped by to lend a hand. Here's a bunch of pics.

Mitchell Park Reserve.
Basically, head south along Marion Rd and turn left on Waterman Tce. It's right at the end of the street. The next round is in 2 weeks, so hopefully the new track will be ready by then. TLR 22T 2.0 MST FXX-D Tamiya CW-01 Tamiya DT-02 Slash LCG 4x4 VXL

Looking great. When do you think your first run on the track will be? Race day or test track day for this?

You keep your Baja well away Mr Minista!
Yeah it looks like we're going to have a 'Test & Tune' day at the track this weekend. Lots of open practice in the morning to see how the track holds up, followed by some actual races in the afternoon if all goes well.
I can't believe we've finally got it built! The amount of work that went into the planning and organising of the build (not to mention the actual work) was staggering....about 2 years worth! But it looks like it was all worth the wait. Now to get back to the business of racing! TLR 22T 2.0 MST FXX-D Tamiya CW-01 Tamiya DT-02 Slash LCG 4x4 VXL

Tomorrows the day we all cut our first laps on the new track. I'm excited!...as Big Kev would say
It's looking like a proper track now with some white paint. The jumps are a little hard to see from this angle and the big triple is out of frame at the bottom, but you get the idea.

As expected, our track has received a huge amount of traffic from the general public since it was opened and it's holding up fairly well all things considered, but a bit more maintenence has been required. Thankfully most people have respected the guidelines we've asked people to follow, but there's still a few people who are choosing to ignore our "Track Closed" sign when it's across the steps to the stand
The track is open 90% of the time, but when it's closed it's usually only because it's damp and therefore soft which means - susceptible to damage. This will only happen after it's been raining or the track manager has just given it a good soaking as part of the maintenence routine (often Fridays before a race day).
We understand that it can be frustrating to drive all the way to the track only to be met with a 'track closed' sign. So, to try and give people a heads up we've put a track open/closed sign on our website's front page too. It gets updated as often as we need it to be, so it should remain a really good way to check the current status before heading out.

The latest news for ARCR is that we now officially have 59 current members with probably a few more to come
I'm not sure how that compares to ther clubs around Australia, but it seems like a good number for little old Adelaide. TLR 22T 2.0 MST FXX-D Tamiya CW-01 Tamiya DT-02 Slash LCG 4x4 VXL

Our track has evolved quite a bit since the last update. We've made some changes and given it some undulation on the left side, while the right side is flat and fast. The legendary Ray Munday has visted a couple of times now, around our State Titles events. Get to know our layout and pick up some racing tips from this lengthy video, if you have an hour to spare.
