After a bit of work I have created a scale drawing on illustrator of our track.
The traffic direction is anti clockwise and you can see where the tabletop is, the three tight turns are bermed corners and work very well.
Luckily we have scored a little bit more land at the bottom are and the grey line indicates the new fence line approximately.
I need to go and measure it accurately but you get the idea, I'm after a few ideas on how to change the bottom section of the track and mix things up a bit.
I figure I'll throw the ideas out to all for a look and would appreciate constructive ideas, I'm thinking the bottom berm will go hard down into the bottom corner and we work from there!!
hhey i did very well with that bob cat....... it was like it was supercharged from when i started off! and its not your average normal operational bobcat, the thing moves by itself !
hey you cant call max half a man, well he is little but he knows how to operate those big machines better than everyone (except seano ofcoursE) at the track!
Very true ........ he said to me I even taught you how to drive the Excavator, I said no you just reminded me .... lol
I drove one 20 years ago ..... He did give me the rundown on the dumper though and laughed at me when I turned it wrong ..lol
the dumper is **** easy, stick her in auto and go for gold, its got 4 gears you know !!
hopefully we can get the bobcat going tomorow so we can do alot more work on the track, need to get as much done as possible before the machines go forever and then were screwed
its a pitty that nobody can be bothered showing up and its not even half a dozen blokes that are taking the hard yards for everyone else
you should be ashamed of yourselves *thefinger LSD style*
Mate what we did today was bloody massive !!!
I wish I could get back there tomorrow but Trace needs me !
I will arrange to get those keys back off you before Tuesday arvo cause I have a board meeting,I might get away from work early and do some more work before the meeting.
My old Clark 753 had that drop down waist bar, the previous slightly smaller model (643) didnt, and as a result there were some very hairy moments when it got up on the front wheels if you got out of balance...was especially fun reversing up the ramps onto the flatbed truck I had...there were no sides to stop you going over the edge if you stuffed up...but still better than the Vibramax 252 roller...had to run up the ramps forwards at full pace to get up the ramp without sliding, then hope you could pull it up before you put it through the cabin : )
Updated the above link with some more pictures from today. Scroll to the bottom, they're the ones with no diging machinery, except the dingo. Click the link above ^^^^^
Sean and Jonny a Seriously massive effort to back up again today.
I was suffering this morning from the dingo and retaining wall, you two will sleep well tonight !!
dingo did me well today, i still feel like im bouncing up and down, worst part is that it ran out of fuel half way back to the shed ****in peice of **** but oh well
now for some goanna oil on the wrists and hope all is well for tomorow haha
That is looking good guys, great job. I'm guessing as usual done by the few people that normally turn up to do all the work so the rest of the members can just come drive there cars and go home again.
What is the white PVC in the middle of the new corner there for?
1. Fence to be put up.
2. Board down the centre of the track. ( maybe even pipe)
3. Cut more off that bottom berm near step up.
4. Fit more sleepers and board to the step up. (found 4 more sleepers)
5. Send group text reminding everyone that we have working bee every 3 saturday
6. Early start and early finish. Things to do people to see.
+1 pull your fingers out and make an effort people
Yeah we all want to sleep in on a Saturday morning after a big Friday night instead of going for a days of work without pay but believe it or not you do get payed, at the next open day when youve got a nice and groomed track to race on amd you enjoy the racing
Its pretty dissapointing seeing the same 5 faces with a D stamped across the forehead every work bee
I'll be coming out again... might bring a weed sprayer this time too, sick of them weeds and grass coming back so quick.
