Welcome to the King Rc shakedown series, you can see from the above banner that Callan has created we are about to start the 2nd half of the year with a bang.
Callan has very kindly offered to sponsor the series for us and he will be providing some fantastic trophies for each class at each round, there will then be the overall winners of entire series for all three classes.
Our goal will is the same as it was for the preceding Rok RC series and that's as a fundraiser for our timing system.
We made some very strong inroads in to our debt and we will be continuing to do the same again.
You might wonder about the name for the series, well it comes from the fact that the Australian Championships are in November and you can bet your wheel nuts we will all be getting fully sorted for that!
A big thank you to Callan Gunn for his ongoing support.
ccorrect me if I am wrong, but didnt someone make an upgrade part to stop the fuel jetting out the back of the truck from the breather....I seem to remember a loop shaped item, that made an upward arc just after the fuel tank, and it was to stop the syphoning effect
That's correct Pete it was actually Callan fro King RC that did it!
He was having issues with the tank pressurizing and expelling the fuel, from memory he was able to baffle the fuel tank with a foam type substance and he installed a header tank for the fuel tank.
When the main tank pressurized the fuel pumped out to the header and when the pressure was off it was drawn back to the main tank.
Sounds like a good idea, can't remember if i seen about that or not. Not sure how i would do the baffle thing on an mcd tank though, and for header tank, i assume you mean like an additional tank to act as a reservoir ?? But would that be legal ??
just so i know and understand .. the placing for the final is based on , how many laps you do or who actualy passes across the line at the end of the race.
for example. i do 40 laps , and finish the race , next bloke above me does 50 but doesn,t finish the race , does that mean he gets a higher placing. or is it 1st three who passes the line regardless of amount of laps.
That's correct mate, the placings are achieved from the person with the most amount of laps in the shortest time.
Perfect example was Zach in the stock class, we struggled to keep his car running and get to the end of the final, but at the same time there where other drivers who had crashed out earlier but they still completed more laps that Zach did.
no probs i just thought you have to at least finish, before any dnf after that..
reason being is that you can go all out and if it breaks you still might get a podium..i thought your car being reliable should have some merit to it.
but it is what it is that's fine.
so the kalee got a 4th , not bad for 2-1/2 year old engine and not have driven the kalee on the ssme track for 2 years.. now i,m going to put a new more hp engine and fg steering..and some practise its been 5 month's since i have had the 2wd on there
And in the final I burnt a massive hole in my fuel tank! Was headfuked why I had smoke coming out of the tank when I come down to refuel in the final, thought only nitro did that!
Guys I'm very sorry but I had no idea that re fueling is not allowed, if it wasn't I'm guessing someone would have chimed in when I'm in a rush to get the body off my car and re fuel it!
At the end of the day I had a big freaking hole in the tank so even if I did get back on the track I would of died shortly after LOL
