Time for a good update.

The full oval at the Belmont Shooting Complex has been approved for QORLS to lease it out. After a long 10 or so months of negotiations, we have gotten through all the red-tape needed to get the approval and the QORLS committee can't wait to get started.

By around the 7th of August, the QORLS committee will have the details for the lease aggreement aswell as the Terms and Conditions for the oval. We will be going through it thoroughly before any commitment. We will advise a general meeting in due time with the out come.

Just a quick breif of what Belmont has to Offer:
1. A full size cricket oval.
2. Local for everyone with in Brisbane.
3. Next to the Gateway motorway.
4. Public toilets and showers less than 100m from the oval.
5. Dedicated car parking
6. Water irrigation for the oval (to be planned)
7. Soft noise restrictions (Noise is not an issue as claimed by the Site-users committee of Belmont, QORLS still intends to run silencers where possible)
8. Free Dirt for track construction (will need to check once more)
9. On-Site accommodation (to be discussed later)

Below is a picture by 74fpv taken on the dedicated car park looking down on the left side of the oval. Behind the tree's directly infront is Old Cleveland Rd, To the left and to the Right of the temp setup is bush and a small dam for water. Behind the camera is a Liecenced Bar (open thurs, fri and sat nights), Toilets and a massive under cover shelter with a BBQ.

Belmont has everything for QORLS, so QORLS asks you for your feedback to make Belmont everything for you.

Looks like it will be a nice setup. Are you guys dumping dirt on this track? Will you be fencing it off? If you don't fence it it will surely get ripped up by idiots on dirt bikes.

Everything including fencing and dirt will be looked after :) We have lots of plans for a layout, it's just up to the members if they like it or not.

Besides, who's going to be the fool who rides a dirt-bike on an RC track at a shooting range? The complex does have patrolling security from time to time from what I've sometimes seen.

The setup won't take overnight to build. We plan on taking the time to get it right as we won't be rushing into anything (including a track layout). What matters the most is making sure that our home is looking as professional as possible.

Keep at it mouse, there is always a window of opportunity somewhere. It's been almost a year since I first contacted Belmont and it's been 4 years for the speedway club since they first equired about their land at brendale and still no reply!!

Don't worry, if there is no place in Melb to run a baja, we'll do you guys a package deal for racing and accomodation up here ;)

Hi Guys

Can anyone tell me how the Belmont Complex is going in Brissy?

Also does anyone run there cars there at the moment, even if it is just an open field.

Thanks
