Here is my restored Tamiya Frog
.
I originally owned a Frog when I was 16 in 1985, some 19 years ago and
here is the result of my recent ebay binges. First I got the car,
then a reproduction body (the only non-genuine part), then the front
tyres, then the rear tyres and finally the original decals. I
painted it green instead of the official two-tone white/pink colour
scheme because I had painted my original Frog green. I think it
looks better that way anyway!
I ended up with the non-genuine tyres that came with this Frog as
spares so I display them next to my Frog at home as if they are pit
spares. I took a high resolution
scan of the original decals too before I cut into them incase I want to
reproduce them at a later date. The reproductions I've seen on
ebay have bad colour calibration - yellows appear as pale green!
I'm planning to paint the tyre relief text next but it is tricky and so I'm practicing first.
This Frog is a shelf Queen now. It has a motor for completion and
steering servo to hold the front wheels properly but there are no other
electronics in it.

I'll have to post some pics of my tamiya fox.
Had it since new, now it sits in the shed. Also have a spare fox chassis.

Ahh, I wouldn't bother. The 'new' Frog is 99% identical to the old Frog.
Chassis (spaceframe) has crap layout, worse still for any nitro application. Stock gearbox also has an impossible design for nitro potential. By the time you've custom-modded those 2... there won't be much Frog left.
(I hacked up a few Frogs in my day...... not just on the racetracks!)
