Loved my I-Beam's in the final qual and final, dropped my time fastest time from the VP's by 1.1 seconds. Looking forward to testing out the City Blocks once I get some glued up :)

Also the softer the better at LRRCC

Well the tire i've been waiting to be made looks like its happened.

http://jconceptsracing.net/wordpress/

not to sure when it'll be available but it sounds like its gonna be pretty good, similar maybe to a PL Caliber or AKA City Block.

maybe someone will let us know........;)

Mike

The new AKA Gridiron' look a lot like VP cutoffs, just imagine useing AKA foams in the VP' and you would have a better handling VP.

AKA inserts are sold seperately, but the killer is they are $16 US per pair
You may as well just pay the extra $10 US to just get original Gridirons !

$26 US for AKA Gridiron #14103s with inserts.

Ofna LPR Hard inserts are only $6 US per pair ;).

The new Proline VTR range is cheaper than AKA range in the US !

All pricing based on A main hobbies site.

Do any of you guys have a useful tire type/tread chart to use in certain conditions... Something like the AKA one or anything useful to boost my knowledge lol...

Cheers :D

The AKA one is a good guide, keep your ears open at the track, read plenty of magazines, I read extreme RC ( their web is www.rc411.com), also racing lines had a good guide for choosing tires for the track conditions a year and a half ago, also see post #5 read that ?.

I haven't run any of the AKA's yet, but I know John said to me ''I hope you're not running city blocks out there'' when he came off the stand from his semi... When I got out there with the Calibers I was faster than I had been all day (I believe, no results up yet!!!!!)...

As you probably saw, they allowed me to break traction if I wanted to (adapting to the conditions), but when I wanted forward bite and for the car to straighten up and get back down to business it was a very simple and easy move.

Cheers

I ran City Block's all day and they performed well for me, I should have ran I-Beams in the final as they would have been more suited to the conditions.

I'll be interested in seeing how the Caliber's go at the Proline, I'm sure they will be a welcome addition to my tyre stocks ;)
