If you wish to lock the front and/or rear diff in a BV-1 simply place 2 of the sun gears inside the diff side by side at each end, this will effectively make the the diff spooled. Just remember to run some Silicon oil(I use #400)or Silicon Grease in there to take up the slack. Makes for great and quick set-up for Drifting.
Locking the diffs on race wont make it turn and it will want to go straight all the time.
I drifted with locked diffs, makes the car more forgiving and stable but if your car is not balanced right weight wise, your car will be hard to handle.
Now i drift with open front and rear and car is more free and you can go stupid angles and still get the car back to where you want it. But the car is more loose and takes quite a bit of getting used to but is my preferred setting.
