If you are practicing at track and you see any 1/5th cars using the track can you politely ask them to leave.
Track is only for cars up to 1/8th.

Would be good to get over there one day, probably take me all weekend to find the place though, if at all, haha, I'm not very good at finding my way around the city.
Melbourne Off Road Radio Car Club also has their club race day on this weekend as well, would be better for both clubs if race days were on different weekends.

MORRCC and us run on different weekends so if people wanted to race at both tracks they can.

Also we will be at our track Saturday morning from 10:00 for a couple hours, so if anyone can come down and give us a hand to get the track ready for Sundays race day that would be great.

Jobs to do.
- Rake and sweep the track.
- Install mesh fencing on the drivers stand.
If you have a broom and/or plastic rake can you bring them with you to do the track please.
Thanks
Col.

We will also be at the track Saturday from 10:00 for a couple of hours getting the track ready for Sunday and doing the fence on the drivers mount. So if you can come down for a while and give us a hand to get the track ready for you to race on the help would be great, bring a broom and plastic rake if you have them.

Hi GTOJOE

We are at the end of Eastgate Ct Wantirna Sth. it is open to use, but please don't use it when it is wet. Not sure what scale you run but 1/5 not permitted on the track.

Most of our info and updates are put on our Facebook page. Search. Eastern Model Car Club, and like us.

We have a $50 yearly membership Jan to Dec, but if you join up now it will take you through to Dec 2015.
Also to support the club, help on track prep days (usually the Sat before race days) and working bees.
We still need to get track edging installed and the pit lane tables installed.
Hope you can drop by on our next race day on Sunday 23rd Nov. Have a look or even better join in the racing. $20 Non members or $10 for members.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks Col. Just went down with a mate and checked it out. Too big for my 1/10 buggy (or i need better suspension) but was good for my 1/10 truck. Again though my suspension isn't set up well for those jumps. Crashed a lot. Broke a rear knuckle. Took the knuckle off my buggy since it was the same and kept going. That was until i lost power to my rear wheels lol. Something has come loose. Picked up a bunch of rocks. They really unsettle the car when you hit them. Tidied up the tyres on one corner. Really needed a shovel though to put all the dirt and gravel back in the tyre. Don't think I'd be good enough to drive on a race day but I'll come down and check it out one day. I'll stick to using it when noone else is there lol. I'll swing you guys some money in the next couple of weeks. Speaking of the money. What does it get used for? Track repairs etc?

I'd still highly encourage you to come down for the races if you get the chance. I've attended the last two race days and can happily report it's been very casual as it's supposed to be for a bit fun; nothing intimidating about it at all. There is currently a good mix of new to experienced racers, so you'll fit right in.

We have to start somewhere right? Plus you will pick up a whole bunch from tips from fellow SCT drivers which are rapidly growing in numbers...

I don't drive a SCT myself but I'll promise, we won't bite. :p

Unfortunately mine is just a monster truck not a short course truck. I'm beginning to think I should have bought a SCT instead. The monster truck is great for just bashing around but terrible on the track. My 1/10 nitro buggy was bottoming out and hitting rocks which sent it all over the place. At one point it bottomed out and the nose hit a rock and it flipped over. I will be putting sway bars on it and might look at making the front stiffer and see how it goes. The .16 engine is a little weak/slow as well. I brought 3 RCs with me and to be honest the best one for the track was the electric (brushed) 1/10 buggy. It's far too slow and the suspension sucks as well but it has reverse :roll:which makes things so much easier LOL. I think I'm going to look into a brushless SCT or buggy for this sort of thing.

Here are my toys. All cheap HSP crap LOL. The nitro buggy has no engine fitted in this pic obviously.

Hi GTOJOE
The track was built for 1/8 so the 1/10 do struggle. The SC 1/10 go well on the track though. If you have 1/10 electric there is the Knox 1/10 electric only club not far away in scorsby behind Bunnings on FTG road.
The membership money goes to several things insurance, council lease on the land, timing system, generator, track maintenance and to cover the money we have already put in so far to build the track and fence just to name a few. We still need money to buy a large water tank and to pay for the water and the list goes on.
Hope to see you on the next race day on 23rd Nov.

The 1/10 SCT's you are talking about. Are they nitro or brushless? My electric is a slow brushed 540 thing so not worth racing at a club. Eventually I will upgrade it to brushless but I have decided to leave it as is as my 3yr old son bashes around with it. Unfortunately I am working on the 23rd until about 4pm. What time do you guys keep racing till?

The 1/10 SCT that have been at the track so far have been EP, no nitro SCT at this stage. I believe all have been brushless, I don't think any where brushed???
How long we are there depends on how many turn up on the day, the last couple we have finished by around 3 ish.

Going to be a big weekend for racing offroad in Vic, Shepp on Saturday arvo/night, then MORRCC & EMCC on the Sunday, lots of choice for Victorians this weekend.
Also could be another track out Dandenong way soon if what I read about goes ahead, more of a private set up than a club though, although people could become members for a fee & track work.

Well i bought a 1/10 brushless dune buggy thing and tried it on the track and it's a lot better than the nitro cars. I also found the 1/10 electric track behind bunnings and it was more suited. Think I'll go there until i get a 1/8 brushless car or when my mate wants to race his 1/8 nitro. Too many breakages on my smaller cars.

Have seen a couple 1/10 on our track and they do struggle on it as it is designed for the 1/8, although the track does suit the 1/10 SCT well.

Don't know if your on RCTECH but it looks like Knox is racing this Sunday 21st.

When we moved to this date I didn't realize that it was the same day as the Remote Control F1 Air Race at Sandown Raceway.
All the people I have talked to so far about this date are going to Sandown, so this is the reason we have decided to CANCEL.

Hi instacarl.

2S should be fine as long you are happy with your power and speed. I don't run EP but i think most run 3s maybe 4s also. Our main restriction is that EP cars are not over powered that makes them unsafe to drive around the track and tear up the track.

As above we hope to race next on the 10th July, weather and track condition dependent.

To keep up to date with racing etc. keep an eye on our FB page if your on FB. Search Eastern Model Car Club. We are also trialing an App for smart phones called, Team app. that should be more reliable to get info out to people.

Thanks.

Hi All.
With racing planed for this coming weekend (Weather Dependent!!) we are thinking of removing the carpet Friday PM, maybe around 5:00pm so the track hopefully can dry out enough for Sunday. If we decide to do this we will need several helpers to move the carpet as it is wet and difficult to move.
Can you please comment if you can help and indicate what time you can help.

Don't forget if we get to race this weekend we will also be holding our AGM. Submit your committee nominations to [email protected] or to 0490 520 024. All positions are classed as vacant on the day.

Hi All.

The plan for Friday and this weekend.

Friday 5:00pm.
Inspect the track to see how wet it is and decide if there is any chance the track may dry out enough if we remove the carpet.

There is Showers and rain forecast for Saturday night, Sunday morning so we will be taking this into consideration when we look at the track Friday. The track and surrounding area is so water logged that it is only taking a small amount of rain to make it to wet to use so lets hope there is no rain or very little Saturday night.

A few people have said they will try to get there Friday to help.
If anyone else can get there to help please let me know.

Will keep you up to date with what is happening.

Thanks.
Colin.

Hi all.

The track is CLOSED.

Some of the carpet has been removed from the wet sections of the track tonight and if we don’t get the rain Saturday night the track should be great by Sunday.

The track is CLOSED as any driving or walking on the track will damage the surface.

If we get rain Saturday night check Facebook or our Team app Sunday morning in case the track is to wet and we need to cancel racing.

Hope to see you Sunday.

Hi All.
The track has had the water swept off it this morning and is ready for a great day of racing tomorrow Sunday 25th June.
Also this will be the final race on this lay out as the track rebuild is about to start and we need everybody's help to pull up the remaining edging and tyres that didn't get done through the past week.. Can people please bring with them Gloves, Shovel, Hammer and Madic. With everyone chipping in this wont take to long to get done.
See you in the morning.
Thanks. Col.
