Yeah, it's a nice boat I'd be keen to get one of them too. Graupner
make great kits.

If you want a yacht without spending too much check out the
Thunder Tiger Victoria. It's a great little boat for around ~300 AFAIK.
It's also fairly popular so they do race them in places and there are a
few little tune ups you can do. The great thing about RC sailing is you
can sail for hours without heaps of batteries.

If you're prepared to spend a bit more I can't recommend the Laser
enough though. It's a bit steep at 830 AUD RTR but it'll last a life
time, requires almost no maintenance, performs beautifully and can
be raced (against other Lasers). See my other thread.

Depends what kind of boat you are interested in really. Fast electric,
gas powerboats, hydro's, scale (warships, tugs, ferries etc), scale
sailing (replica yachts) or racing yachts like the 1m, 10 rater and
marblehead classes.

Personally my next RC vehicle will be a submarine like one of these
http://www.westbourne-model.co.uk/Akula.htm they are pretty
expensive though and buying the LST has that back a bit, maybe in a
year or two, then my RC family will be complete

EDIT - I forgot to ask, is that salt water? It will limit your choices a bit
and make maintenance more of an issue.Edited by: gothikon

Traxxas have a range of electric rtr speed boats but they are anything
but fast compared to what you'd get if you bought your own hull and
running gear. Kyosho have some stuff with I think is a bit better.

This got some pretty good reviews http://www.modelflight.com.au/
rc_model_boats/aquacraft_hammer.htm There is also a nitro version.
You can run these boats in salt water. The big gas boats are mostly off
shore racers but you need to be really careful about cleaning them
aferwards AFAIK.
