Just took delivery today of a new Hormann HT3. A what you ask? HT3, an all alloy 2wd race spec buggy. Have a look at the European race results and you will see Hormann in 1st place more times than any other brand:D
Opening the box reveals a whole lot of parts ready to be assembled, nicely milled lightened chassis, carbon fibre radio tray and all the parts bagged in sections to make finding everything during assembly easy.

Build pics to follow

Starting with bag 1, the front hubs. They go together as shown and a finished hub below pic. As with any alloy car a fresh bottle of locktite is the go and the top was cut off a new bottle for this build.

On to bag No2, steering rods. These are as easy as getting a stubby out of the fridge.

3rd bag is the twin servo savers, these can be put together the wrong way and its important to put the washers and steel inserts in the right places. Once together its a super smooth bit of gear

So once its all build you should start her up and go out on the street for a spin! don't worry about the neighbours.

What motor do you plan on putting in this baby?

CreepShow

It will be running an EFRA legal tuned motor from Mik Motors, a top German engine modder, who does motors for the MCD factory team cars as well as other top Euro racers.

Fourth bag to open is the front end bulkheads. These slot together nicely into sub assemblies which will then bolt to the chassis.

And finally the chassis starts to sprout parts

Started todays session with the front arms, about 10 mins to screw everything together. They fitted into there gap perfectly and then the front hubs assembled earlier could be fitted. Everything moves smoothly but with zero slop, goto love German engineering:cool:

Next bag was full of driveshaft components and the rear upper arms. Hardest part was getting the boots over the shafts.

I love seeing these Euros come together,.

It's a design perfection that you don't see in the smaller scales

Next bag had the rear lower arms, rear shock tower and engine mounts/arm mounts. The rears arms are very neat with adjustable toe in using different ends that bolt onto the arm. The kit came with 4 degree ends. Bolting everything up was a snack, left the shock tower off for now as its clear the diff needs to be dropped in first.

Started todays session with bag8, this is all the drivetrain. I had to spend a few minutes filing the burs off the main spur gear mount before it would sit on nicely, no big deal. Everything else slotted together with the same precision as earlier parts. At this stage I've left layshaft and its gears loose as i can see it needs to comew out for the brakes at a later stage. The diff is now in (love the quick change holder!) so the rear shock tower can now go on.

Bag 9 is the rear hubs, these are so simple to put together I just took a pic of them finished, now I can assemble the rear end completely.
