Those from the Melbourne crew who know me will confirm that I am a fan
of the "bigger is better" philosphy and since ordering my Raptor 50 on
the weekend I have been dreaming about the possibilities of getting
into 'Big Scale' stuff.

Now your talking....

Only RCs bigger than that would be the Scale Warships. https://www.ausrc.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

One LHS had a F15 in fibreglass with 8' long fuselage though, that'll come 2nd.

Dayum!! An eight foot fuselage would be a big plane
overall!! The helis are just plain long but an F15 jet would also be
wide.

Here's another...

I'd love one of those. Turbine engined would be the ideal scale model, unless they already are.

This looks very tempting......do you think I could make a sling & hang from it? https://www.ausrc.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Jesus those things are big. Id imagine the damage bill would be in the zillions of trillions?

At least youd be able to tell what parts break off on impact from a few hundred meters away.https://www.ausrc.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Skidd,

If you are going that big, I think you need to check your MAAA
insurance... I don't think you are covered. Also, I think the
heli has to be certified by the state CFI before being allowed to
fly... I THINK!!!

Will have a look into it - I am curious now.

Regards,

Chris

Chris,

I'm not quite going that big, but close.

My goal is the Len Mount UH-1C fuse which is just a shade over 2
metres (208cm), with the scale blades fitted the overall length will be
over 3 metres. ATM I'm heading for the vario gasser mechanics but
I'm also really
tempted by the jet turbine as in the pic below... true scale stuff.

https://www.ausrc.com/forum/members/images/Skidd/Len_Mount_UH-1C_turbine.jpg

I'm in 'tentative' negotiations with someone about the exact kit
above, which is exactly what I want to get... but I almost hope it doesn't come off as I can't afford
it. The problem is it's almost 1/2 normal price so it's too good a deal
to pass up.

yeah for sure, the quality in the finish is like real life, expensive leather recliners.

you could not pick a flaw with them that would prove its a scaled downseat, no matter how hard you try..

Yeah they are fun, most of the "good gear" in that category is
FG. We have a pretty good on road track about 20 minutes from my
place where they have held the 1/5th scale truck racing before.
