For the last 12 months or so i have been doing the repairs and builds for one of my LHS's and had one a little different pop up the other day. Mostly i build/repair cars, the odd heli and plank, and powered boats but never a yacht.
We have sold probably 20-25 in the last 12 months and most of the people that have bought them have been looking forward to the build. Last week we had a complete noob in the shop who bought one and then he asked when it would be ready :S The boss told him that it was up to him to build it, but we could do it for a price. So i have spent the last 4 nights scratching my head trying to figure out this tangle of string and sails.
All in all it was a relatively simple build after i downloaded the manual after the customer took it home to read and spilt coke all over it. Its a tamiya 1:24 Yamaha 40EX cruiser, the mast is around 3' high to give a rough idea of size.
Am almost thinking one of these would be sweet as a shelf queen/occasional use as i used to sail single handed dinghy's when i was younger
