New shaft tube finally arrives after first one damaged in post. Now just have to wait on the weather to improve(raining cats and dogs) before I can break out the fiberglass to fit it.
The hull came from the Adelaide Model Boat Centre.
I don't know about the decals yet, I was going to get my nephew to do some art work, but can't do any for a couple of more months
due to work getting in the way. This is the front of my ute.
Won't be doing any more today as it's still raining here.
Cheers
It's brushless, so you can play around with all those batteries you have. Hull is great, hardware is excellent, motor ESC and prop will need to be upgraded to get some real speed out of it.
There are tons of threads around with mods for it, they were very popular around 2008. It would be a sweet intro for your RC boating journey.
Probably not, As I am the only one left here at at the moment still running these boats, as the closest persons I know are 40mile away. I just like running them and to get them going as best as I can. I also run 100% in salt water so I get to do a lot of maintaince.
Fitted the radio switch access. Used a drink bottle neck and lid. Remove bottle neck from bottle and clean up. Dirll hole same size as neck in radio box lid in the position the switch will be below it. Deglaze the radio lid(this is a must to get a good joint no matter what glue you use) and bottle neck where they will join. I use automotive urethane, once dry(over night) it will not seperate and no smell to damage electronics. You only need a small amount 4ml. This is the same stuff that holds windscreens in your car.
I use the same method for accessing the switch on the Baja when running the full underbody, only I used a coke bottle top and still needed a screw driver to push the switch....water bottle, Bigger opening:bang:
Hi All,
Have the boat ready to go, just waiting on the RX as the one I had don't work. Made up the start/carry stand. Just a couple of coats of clear and fit the padding.
Cheers
Hi All,
It got wet this morning.
Got sick of waiting for parts, so I borrowed some from another boat. Header too short, engine tune way off on the top end and the prop too deep. Will now do some adjustments and hope that the parts I'm waiting on turn up soon.
Sorry about the quality of the video, as it's a bit hard to hold the camera and control the boat at the same time.
You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox1kBpZ0ZXU&feature=g-upl&context=G28619a4AUAAAAAAAAAA
I see a bright future for boats, no track maintainance, drivers stands, club joining fees etc and you can run them anywhere there is water. What's not to like!
Thanks all, I have over 10square mile of water to run on, only fault is its saltwater. Just means a bit more maintance after running. I am just waiting on a new header and a RX for it. Have done some adjustments allready.
I head down to Narooma a fair bit and if I am with my brother in law he always says that Kings Point Ski Club would be a good spot for us to run, Just a shame we are in Sydney.
