hi everyone, I picked this thing up for $25 lol. Havent got the canopy for it yet but should get it monday. Not sure what to do with it yet. I think my best bet would be is to just find a whipper snipper motor or something similiar to put in there. anyone got one??? If someone can give me ideas on what to do with it that would be awesome. thanks
matt
i think its a 30cc homelite (whipper snipper engine) its missing pretty much everything to make it run haha thats why im just going to look around for a whipper snipper that works lol and i dont really want to spend anything on it if i can help it.
I doubt anyone would have a running marine engine just laying around that they would give you for free. It's worth a try I guess. ebay has lots of cheap 2 stroke marine engines. I think last time I looked they were about $170. Here is a link and a pic. This engine is water cooled, the old one in there is air cooled and not ideal for a boat.
Ok well, im not sure if its a 30cc. Only thing i know is the brand. Which it is McCulloch. Im fair sure its pretty much a whipper snipper engine so hopefully i can get one that is a direct fit. might go to the dump and have a look
Psst, I might have a motor for you. Bring it out sometime and I'll have a look. Actaully if you even just post a close up picture of the motor I might be able to get a better idea. If my motor won't fit I agree with LD, time for brushless. Did this one come from the dump shop as well?
Let me guess is it from the trike lol. Nah its not from the dump. a kid down the road, his dad is into it and said we could have it lol. Had 2 holes in the hull but fixed it with hotglue lol. Might go to the dump tomorrow and see if i can find a whipper snipper for cheap but if not we can see if urs fits. Ill get some pics of the motor and mounts tomorrow. Also ill get a pic of the patchups we did lol.
I'd be using something more than shoe goo to fix the holes. Fiberglass it up or even shoe goo it if you have to, but I don't think hot glue will hold for too long.
That motor will be a 21.2cc McCulloch, also sold as 'eager beaver' snippers over here.
Were good for their time but many better choices for conversions nowadays, have a look down the dump 'recycling centre' and try to stay with a full crank engine.
Heres a few more pics of the engine and engine mounts for u kieren. Hope this helps to see if ur engine will fit lol. also theres a pic of the overall length its big ha. going to have to order one of these rudders soon but will wait to get an engine first. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160mm-Wa...Radio_Controlled_Vehicles&hash=item415a58e364

Oh ok sweet, but how would the flex cable connect to the motor? cause im fair sure this one is just the whipper snipper flex cable so it just uses the motor connecter thing that it always had. what cc is the motor?
matt
Yeah but that requires money. u could buy it for me lol dw i was thinking about it. This thing sits pretty low in the water. when u push it, water goes over the top but im assuming once theres power no water should go over the top?
wow thats big haha and dont you take the clutches off them anyways?
