Been playin around with the idea if getting a 1/5th scale petrol powered boat for a while. I recently sold all my 1/5th Baja gear and now my shelves in the garage are empty.
I am very keen to get a RTR boat, as I sold all my radio gear with the sale :bang:
And RTR appeals to me cause I just wanna go out and have fun with it ASAP.
I want all you thoughts on the King Of Shaves boats by Venom. I had a look at one at Frontline Hobbies in Newcastle yesterday and I was quiete impressed! :decision:

Anything can be used in salt water if you take precautions to prevent corrosion. You might want to change some fittings to Alloy or Stainless but other then a few screws, you have nothing to worry about that a good clean and some crc won't prevent.
The stuff on that oz site isn't any different to the navicraft, strut and rudder wise and driveline, bar the motors, they have zenoahs and you pay through the roof for the hulls
Boat pond sure is up and running I've have my brushless bandit obl down there every week now for the past month lol

I'm inclined to buy one of these King of Shaves boats. Frontline hobbies has the white one in stock, and living 3hours from Sydney limits the amount of stores I can shop at.
Don't care too much about any supposed standard engine issues as if it blows up, then I will slap in some filthy "big bore" zenoah!
Plus I really like the look of em, as in the attention to detail. I.e. A proper scale replica of a real boat!
matty and fellow boaters, im up to 9 now..
Racing next season..
All carbon kevlar and friend has moulds for shaves, mystic. etc
Currently has australian saw champ on 6s
and am going for number one in a mhz dranbuie cat.. Runs lehner motors and shultze esc's....
You thought 1/5 scale was cheap.... motors are 500 each for starters and you need two..
I can have you built a new mono, cat, hydro or rigger either last years race boats or fresh out of moulds.. No paint just finished in carbon..
Pm me your budget and i can sort something..Can get you a mhz or fighter cat on singles or twins capable of 120ks plus for under 800. just add rx

Too busy, just dont tell the missus...lol i hated lipo's, but when you get the right hull and a prop god like merlin, you can deliver 8 kilowatts per prop....twins amd they do over 45000rpm for starters.. only get 2 to 4 mins run time but it's fn quick..lol
The best answer to this question is "what floats ya boat".
