Currently it's just a empty Hull that has never seen water in it's a life. it was given to me for free and i had plans to drop a 26cc Engine in it as you can see it sitting inside the cabin, but then i had a new idea, im planning on putting a Large adjustable dual rudder with pickup , and fitting it out with either single or Dual electric engines. i dont want it to be a speed boat just something thats gonna go medium paced just for leisure cruising as im thinking of making it a custom fishing boat but who knows , right now i just need to know what would be appropriate sized motor / motors to do the job. i will post some pictures below here in a separate comment.
Thanks in advanced and hope you all had a great easter!!
Thanks mate , very true well i currently have a Nosram VTEC LiPo Battery 8000 that hasnt been used was gonna try and work around that , but i guess my best bet would just to keep an eye out for a decent size motor and then the esc thats when i decide about the battery , dont want to make the same mistake i made on new years eve lol
Ok, so with something of that size, you would probably be looking at running the boat on altleast 4s (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though). I honestly don't know enough about boats to tell you much more than that, so I'll leave it up to the people on here that know their stuff.
Good luck with your build:thumb:
Thankyou for the help though mate, i think i will take it down to a Hobby store when i get the chance and with a bit of luck they will have what i need , Cheers for the goodluck im gonna need it haha
mate dont spend too much on it if you intend on using it as a fishing boat, you hook up a decent size fish and you can consider it a hell of an expensive lure snagged off!
Very true i had a few second thoughts about the idea of catching fish with it , so i thought about attaching a quick line release so i can attach my fishing line to it , drive out to where i want it to be and then release drive back in and just wait and play around with the boat while im waiting lol, i was thinking of making a trailer for it to tow behind my baja but thats useless since mines out of action :'(
lol they roll backwards down a ramp. I have done it myself and usually a gut full of throttle just as it hits water hahaha and try not to do a 180 staright into the river hahaha.
But as for your boat mate. It really depends how much you want to spend. A Neu motor would be one of the best out there but are usually the highest price too. If you intend on just cruising around, something like 180a seaking ESC will handle it no problem at all. As for motor well something around 1500kv should be good. good low torque.
Now the hardest part is props. If you have any to try just experiment. Also checkout hobbyking. I have seen a few turnigy marine esc's there too. Some look ok some not so ok lol.
Made a build thread. Will be great to see.
