Hi guys, I am looking to get a boat to add to the stable of cars. I want something fairly simple and not too expensive so I was thinking a brushless RTR boat. Something for around $200 - $300 would be ideal (obviously plus batteries).
I dont know much about the brands but I found a AquaCraft SuperVee 27 Brushless RTR on a hobby website for $220, does anyone know much about those?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I plan to run it on a lake and the water will always be calm, already have a good charger so no issues there.
I just bought a HOR APPARITION catamaran off ebay for $299
It came with an ETTI 125 amp esc and a 1620kv brushless motor and a 3 cell 2200mah lipo (which i sold to my mate with a small heli) and a 2.4 ghz radio installed
As i can run this thing on 6 cell lipo's :thumb: and i have been running it on 2 X 2 cell lipo's in series and it is actually quite quick for my first boat
Just waiting on my 2 x 3 cell 5000 mah lipo's to show up should be a bit quicker when run in series
The hull is fiber glass and it seems fairly strong so far as I have hit a turtle flat out and the boat doesn't seem to have any obvious damage except the plastic prop that was fitted
I fitted a copper berylium blended balanced and sharpened prop and it seems to help out a little
Hey bud, I have a BL Supervee 27 and have to say that price is an absolute steal! I haven't run mine on NiMh yet only on a couple of 2S, 5000mAh packs but it hauls butt with these and with a bit of added weight in the front handles really well. I say grab that boat! Mine does have an upgraded Grim racer prop so not sure how much difference this makes. I have never run the stock radio, have my Nomadio installed although do have the stock servo in which is quite slow but probably saves me from turning too hard and capsizing!
nzdans - how do you use lipos? As I understand the ESC doesnt have a low voltage cutoff?
