Building RC Boat from Non-RC kit...

I bought myself one of these http://www.stanbridges.com.au/index.cfm/shop.p17563 today from Toyworld to get myself started in the RC boats... I went in to talk to the guys as i have a 27T 540 Motor and speedie left over from my Wheely King crawler (as i converted it to a Novak Brushless Crawler System), so i thought of building a a boat with it and the spare servo and radio gear i have...

I think the 540 will be probably too big for it... But i thought it would be a good starting point even if i just use the plans (upscaled a bit) to build a more suitable one at a later stage...

Now the boat comes with a motor... but no speedie... could i use the WK Speedie?

Anyone got any comments or suggestions?

speedy will work fine, can use existing motor if its smaller than 540 no probs

but that boat is <40cm long? could be a bit small and not enough buoyancy
to support a full subC pack's weight. If it rides too low it could perform like a dog.

Water (hydrodynamics) is one thing that doesn't 'scale' properly.
