SSMEOLS New Track Work
Well guy's I would like to let everyone know that with the generous help of Peter Black (Blackie) we have secured up to 300 tonnes of material for the 1/5th Baja track at the Luddenham Model Park.
I have just got off the phone with the SSME President and he has given his blessing for the materials to be delivered and stock piled for our use over the next couple of months.
In turn we are going to help the SSME with a few small projects around the place out of good faith but our section will benefit largely from the New works that are going to take place.
The materials will be stockpiled along the bottom of our area and into the flying field, we will obviously need a machine of two to distribute it but we will have enough material to completely resurface the track.
We can create bigger better and berms and jumps and have plenty of material for ongoing maintenance, something we are lacking now.
The material is a Grey colored soft clay and will be a lot kinder to our tires and give us a lot more traction.
The material will start to be delivered as of tomorrow, weather permitting so we can plan ahead.
Working bee's are scheduled for Saturday the 19th and 26th of September
Also every Saturday in October leading up to the State of Origin Event so we would be more than grateful for anyone who would like to come and give us a hand..
Cheers
Dean

IMO, i reckon you should have the left the thread in the public domain for all to see. It is useful for potential members who would be following the track/club progress to see the "nuts and bolts workings" of what is happening etc, warts and all. You may have moved it on the theory that it was dirty laundry and dirty laundry should not be aired in public, but at the end of the day, thats clubs!

Hey Cammo how you going mate? Long time no see when is the next race out at the Hill mate - summer is around the corner and were in Spring!!!
Anyway, as for the moved, it was of no benefit to read and it was just about what should be done to the track, nothing of any real use and no need for it to be left here for all too see, we just like to keep things a bit cleaner that's all - no serious issues that your missing out on!

Just an update, I managed to get out there this morning to meet the truck.
I removed on rubbish bin and a steel pole holding it in so he could back up along side the fence.
The bloody trailer was so big and with the fall of the hill he couldn't dump it ..lol
SO he will start the runs tomorrow with a couple of normal trucks...
At least he knows how and where to go and where we need it and theres no lock at all on the gate to worry about so all is good..

Boy's I myself can't this weekend but you guys could certainly.
Unfortunately no soil has been delivered as yet, I met the semi out there on Monday and he couldn't tip it due to the fall of the land and the trailer going the other way, he was worried it could topple over.
He hasn't got back with the good soil in the normal trucks yet, I was out there dropping some timber off this arvo.
There is plenty of track work that could be done if you wanted to go out there though, I have the key for the dingo but it would be no use with the ground as hard as it is until the soil arrives.
Pick a berm and start shaping with a mattock....... hard work but that's what it needs.
Dean
