Hey guys i was checking out the XRAY XT8, does anyone know who handles these in OZ, looks like a cool ride and if the right price i would say is more than competitive to the losi 8T2.0,

Mate the Losi 8T 2.0 will eat the XT8 XRAY. Dont get me wrong the XRAY is a great truggz and is a piece of work, extremly high build quality.
The truggys to beat at the moment are the Losi 8T 2.0 and the Mugen MBX6T.

You keep saying you have a budget, you will not get a better RTR package end of story.

By the time you get the XRAY, motor, pipe, servos, radio, electrics, starter box and tools you will spend twice the price of the LOSI

The losi also comes with basic tools so you can tinker as soon as you open the box.

There is 2 versions of the LOSI a race roller which needs engine, pipe, electrics etc and the RTR.

Keith, the Losi RTR is the way to go. I convince a guy a couple of months ago to buy 1 and at his first Race meet on a track that he had only done a few practice laps, Won the B-Grade Truggy Final at his first go.

Going to the Nats will be fun to watch, but those guys have been driving for a long time and know how to setup and drive a Truggy.

If you only have a Budget of $1000, have you also considered the cost of Racing? Are you able to afford the spares that it is advisable to carry to a race meet? Spare Bearings, Clutch Shoes, Wheel Nuts, Servo's, Tires/Wheels, etc. How many people have had a race meet cut short by not having the right spare in thier Kit? EVERYONE.

My advice to you Keith is if you have considered all these things is to buy the best you can afford.

That guy who bought the Losi 2.0 RTR Truggy, I was telling you about, can only afford to race once a month and still does well when his car is running.

I think he has replaced both servo's , servo saver, wheel on starter box, servo arms, and now his Tx is in the shop because it want hold bind.

Dont get me wrong, they are a great RTR Truggy, which can be made better with the right money.

Truggies

Guys i appreciate all the comments but now i am confused, my budget is any where from $500 to a grand if i have to but if anyone has another make of truggy sugestion that i should buy ,please tell me, hell if i can spend $650 and have some left for spares then i am better off, but i do not want to buy a cheapie just for the sake of saving a few bucks, i also realise that a lot of guys on here are hobby shop owners or workers and of course want us to buy there products but i am after the best deal i can get so any brand that will do what i want is what i will look at, so bring on the suggestions guys. RTR is fine as i believe they are cheaper in the long run.

+1 on this. Inevidibly you will replace both servos and fit a personal transponder so plan to add another $400 to $500 bin the first couple of months.

I run the Hyper ST which i got for $700 replaced both servos with ace1015 $250, race engine and pipe I got really cheap $150, personal transponder $150, wheels and tyres $100, Starter box and batteries $200
plus breakages and bearings $200, Plus Quality radio gear also cheap $250
Damn dont let the missus know ive spent this much
Should of just got the LOSI in the first place

Dude, make up your mind. You've been told the BEST 2 Truggies out there are the Losi and Mugen so concentrate on those 2 and buy one.

Cheers

Keith,
If you are serious about getting into racing do it right the first time.
while buying a cheaper truggy will get you racing you will find that you will only be wasting that money in the long run.

Not sure how many entrants SDMCC get in the clubman class but that may be another avenue.

RTR buggy with pullstart motor would be cheaper
