What battery for a firestorm flux
I have just purchased a new hpi firestorm flux. It recommends using a 2s lipo, as this will not be a problem as I will use 2x2s in my new beam.
I have run a 3s pack through and it may be getting a bit warm ( the speedy and motor). Tonight after tea, I went to the park with the kids to run it again and after a little while, throttle seemed erratic, almost like the lvc was kicking in. I got home and charged the 3s pack and it only put about 600milliamps back in.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Should I only run it on 2s?
Cheers dave.

The ESC from memory is capable of running 2s not 3s, if you bang 11.1v-12.6v through an ESC that is designed to handle 7.4v, you are likely to fry the ESC, and over rev the motor.

Cheers for that Towie, I figured as much.
I will get out the 2s packs and charge them up and run them until the new beam arrives.
cheers dave.

I believe that the speedy can handle 3S when you run the 4600KV motor. It doesnt like the 5700Kv

I had more of a look at their website and found some info about it being on 3s, but you do have to change the gearing and this will enable you to get a higher speed..
Cheers Bro.

I did the same thing & ran 3s in my Flux. It fried the ESC. I only run 2S now. When i brought it i was told it would handle the 3S but they don't like them.

The 4600kv combo will handle 3s, trouble is most of the E-Firestorms here in Australia, are fitted with the 5700kv and it wont handle a 3s lipo for too long before it turns to BBQ

Dave, you should use your 2S lipos in parallel...get better runtimes, and wont puff your 2S cells so quick.
what 2S cells do you run in your beam?
