2.4ghz Tx does not work on matching Rx

Hey everybody, i have a 2.4ghz turborix 6ch receiver and transmitter. it it brand new and never been through one flight. When i first connected it to power and some servo's when i first bought it to test, it ran smoothly. A week or so later i connected it up and the LED's flashed on both receiver modules but now the tx wouldn't control the servo's. I tried to rebind it and whenever the receiver module was connected to the main receiver the LED's never turned on, so i disconnected the module and ran with one reciever. The LED powered on and i rebound the tx to the Rx, ... but again the controller couldn't control any of the servo's or the ESC. I connected everything to an old Tx and Rx and it worked perfectly, but for some reason there is failed communication between my 2.4ghz Rx and Tx.

Any suggestions? Oh and the power source is a 3s1p 11.1v 3000mAh 35C Li-Po.

Hope you're using a voltage regulator between the battery and the receiver! Very few (chinese) RX's work on above 6V....

Oh my, no i wasn't, and the dam receiver never came with specs so i didn't know what the input voltage was. Hmmm, what are the chances that i have damaged the device? Also will 6v run 3 servos and the two 30A ESC? Ok i will go try 6v on the receiver, hopefully i have not damaged it. I will let you know how it goes.

The ESC's don't have BEC ?? I take it that it's a twin motor jobbie ?

usual install is the 3S batt feeds the ESC, then the ESc's BEC/throttle lead supplies power to the Rx and servos....

Need more info !
What machine , ESC's, etc etc ..

According to this http://www.r2hobbies.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcps61411 the Rx is only good to 6V .. hope you're lucky !! most servos will also die with above 6V too ..... Sorry......

The ESC do have BEC. The details of ESC are as follows, two Mystery pentum-30A, BEC at 2A/5V, input power DC 5.6v-16.8v. One runs main motor, one runs tail motor. It isnt a store bought heli, i have completely made and designed it from scratch as a uni project. The battery is a li-po, 3000mAh, 11.1v 3S1P. Servo's are bycamo high torque model. So i can power Rx with no connection in the BAT port, just using esc bec's? Sorry i am new to RC. Well the servo's still work on other Rx, so they are not dead, I have not tried a Voltage regulator yet, i will head off to jaycar tomorrow to get a 6v regulator so i can run it in series with the positive lead into the Rx power supply. Hopfully that will work.

You dont need a regulator, use the BEC in the ESC for the main motor , plugged into the THRottle port in the Rx.....Follow the ESC instructions to set up the ESC..
I'd think the tail ESC , plugged into the RUDDer port , with the red lead removed and isolated, may work; you'd probably need a mix set up to incorporate the gyro ...

I hope you have a good , multi channel radio , think you'll need some mixers to make that setup work ..

So i do not need to connect any power to the power/BAT port of the Rx? When i plug the BEC into the throttle port (CH3 in my case) the Rx does not power up. I have a lab power supply, so i set it to 1.5A and 6V, connected that to the Bat/Power port of the Rx and the LEDs did not come on, it wouldn't power up. I regulated the voltage up slowly, and the LEDs only come on when the voltage is above 10v. But again my controller cannot power/control anything, not the ESC or the servos, even when i tried new servos. I cannot set up the ESC if i cannot control it with my Tx.

I tried setting up my Tx with a "t6config" program so i can get all my channels mixed, etc, but i cant do it until i have the Tx and Rx actually working.

What do you mean by mix set up for the gyro? Currently i ahve the tail ESc going to the gyro then to Rx.

You don't need anything plugged into the power/batt port , the + and - rails are common to all the ports..

check that you have 6v between the red and black wires of the bec/throttle lead, its possible that connecting the 3s batt to the rx , as well as that lead , has stuffed the bec bit of the esc.... its also probable that the rx is dead!!!

the tail setup as you describe can't work.. the gyro does not output the correct signal to operate the esc progressively....

any local flyers near to where you are ?

Try rebinding the tx/rx , I'd suggest using a 4 cell nicd/nimh pack( or the power supply set to 5v ) to power the rx ( in any port ) , bind plug has to go in power/batt port to bind...

I tested the BEC and there is 5v there. The BEC works fine, i tested it on an analog Rx and it runs fine. I think my digital Rx is dead from my stupidity. But for some reason it still runs when powered by 12v but not by 6v as it states on its specs. I can rebind it on 12v power but not on 5-6v power because the LED on the Rx wont turn on. No there are no flyer near me that i am aware of. How can i fix my gyro set up?

surely appears the rx is dead !..

I can't see a way to get the tail to work properly with that setup though....
