Question No Worldwide Stock of Cyclone TC

Hi,

(1) Does anyone know what is causing the delay on the Hot Bodies Cyclone TC Kits (67700) being available in the hobby stores ??

(2) There are a lot of places that sell the kit:
-- Tower
-- Stormer
-- A Main Hobbies
-- SpeechTech RC
-- RC Mushroom
-- RC Mart
-- RC Market
-- RC Model
-- Frontline & RC Hobbies (Australia)
-- lots of others
However, all are generally out the vast majority of time.

(3) One or two appeared on Stormer a few weeks ago, but went very quickly.
Tower indicated availability as Mid-May, then Late May, and now Mid June 2009.

(4) I head a rumor (unconfirmed) that Hot Bodies are only doing a production run every two months due to the economic downturn.
Any confirmation of this ??

(5) Maybe HB are coming out with a new model cyclone ??

(6) Maybe HB (HPI) are goiing out of business ??

Any ideas ??
Thanks in advance

(1) Do you mind if I ask how reliable your source is?

(2) I have corresponded with the majority of the listed companies in my first post and all have indicated that they are not able to get a definitive date. The product usually just turns up (or with little notice). Tower have had to revise their expected dates several times (and even then, who knows).

Cheers

one of the thing that slows down the stock into Australia, we are at the end of the foodchain in relation to the rest of the world supply, we have a large country with a tiny population, the US and Europe get heir stock of everything before we get a look in, when sales are high in the US, guess where the stock goes?
when we buy privately Overseas through places like Amain and Tower and all the others, guess who gets the sale? yep the US gets the sale, so the suppliers send more stock to them, usually it is stock destined for other places, but to keep the US sellers happy, and as they are bigger turn over clients, our stock get delayed

We order 10 or 15 units of a product, they order a pallet of each, which order would you fill first? I know who I would supply

Source: Yes my source of information is reliable, and works with a major manufacturer's distribution network

Simple Solution:
Buy locally, support your LHS, it gives them more power to get stock here
Be patient, place your order through an Australian based company
Dont order your items through overseas traders
If everyone bought locally, our orders would be stronger and give us more bargaining power to get stock here and at better prices

totally agree with towie169.We are the last to be supplied because of supply and demand and the guy i have been talking to understands this and has ordered enough stuff to bump us up the food chain a step or two. Ran one at muchmores on the weekend and was 1/2 second a lap quicker than preveious car for about i/2 the effort. Our old secret to succes (and i'm a bit reluctant to share this) was to gear up.With the Cyclone(Purple reign) it's spacers and shims. I know 5 weeks seems an eternity when you're waiting for a grail but anticcccipation can be so sweet(at least thats what Dr. Frankenfurter said) We can only wait and see if white man speak with fork tounge.
